This is Doug. Doug love surfing and came to me determined to improve his game. After ten days of surfing together, both in Nosara and down in Santa Teresa, this is Doug’s summery of his experience from our sessions together:

“Based on the recommendation from a friend, I hired Gal for ten consecutive days, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. I went from being able to occasionally being able to catch waves by luck to actually being able to read and predict where waves would break, while also making several technique breakthroughs. I believe I was on the verge of developing some very poor habits from trying to teach myself and I now feel that I have a much stronger base to work from moving forward. I would highly recommend hiring Gal whether it be for a single session, or preferably multiple days in a row if you want to considerably shorten your learning curve.”

After some time in the cold, so happy to be back home in the warmth, enjoying all the blues and greens with friends and family. the year has ended with beautiful surf and there’s a new swell on the way. Yewwwww! For daily surf trips and coaching sessions hit me up 🙏🏽

גל אחד מתוך רבים וטובים מהנסיעה האחרונה דרומה.. וואו כמה שהיה כיף! הימים שהובילו לסוואל היו עם מזג אוויר ותנאי גלישה מצויינים, וסוואל עצמו התממש כמו שהתחזית חזתה. את הגלים הכי טובים שלי לא תפסו במצלמה אבל לא נורא, כי אנחנו גולשים בשביל הגלים ולא בשביל התמונה! אבל, אם תבואו לגלוש ולהתאמן איתי אדאג שאת הגלים הטובים שלכם לא יפספסו 😜🤙🏽

One wave of many good ones from the last trip south. Wow it was fun! The days that led up to the swell had great weather and surf conditions , and the swell itself arrived as just like the forecast predicted. My best waves weren’t captured by any camera, but that’s ok, as we surf for the waves, not for the pic! But, if you’ll come to surf and have coaching sessions with me, I’ll make sure that your best waves will not be missed by the camera 😜🤙🏽

קוסטה ריקה ידועה בתנאי הגלישה המצויינים המצויינים שלה לגולשים מתחילים ובינוניים, אבל מידי פעם נכנס סוואל גדול יותר שמספק אתגר וריגוש גם לגולשים מנוסים יותר.

Costa Rica is known for it’s excellent surf conditions for beginner and intermediate surfers, but every once in a while a larger swell rolls in and provides a challenge also to the more advanced surfers.

כרבע שעה נסיעה מהחוף נפתח עולם אחר, עולם של הרים וגבעות, שדות וג׳ונגלים. הטוב מכל העולמות. כשהקומבו של סוואל/טייד/רוח קורא ליום מנוחה מגלישה, אני אוהב לצאת החוצה מהבועה של החוף ולחוות משהו אחר..

About fifteen minutes from the beach opens up a new world, one of mountains and hills, fields and jungles. When the wind/ tide/ swell combo calls for a lay day, I love going out of the beach bubble and experience something different.

אפריל ומאי מביאים איתם את תחילתה של העונה הרטובה. הנוף מתחלף חזרה מירוק בהיר וצהוב לגוונים של ירוק חזק וכהה. השמיים, שבעונה היבשה כחולים ועם מעט עננים מתחילים להתכסות בעננים. הרוחות משתנות. ומה כל זה אומר? שהעונה של הסוואלים הדרומיים מתחילה! זרימה עקבית של סוואלים עם מרכיב דרומי ברור לאורך שבועות על שבועות, ותדירות הימים עם סוואלים גבוהים יותר עולה. כמובן שגם לגולשים מתחילים יש אופציות, אבל למי שמחפש גלים עם קצת יותר מיץ- זאת העונה!

April and May bring with them the beginning of the wet season. The landscape changes back from light Green and yellow to shades of strong and dark green. The sky, which in the dry season is blue and with few clouds is beginning to have more cloudy patterns. The winds change. And what does all this mean? That the season of southern swells begins! Consistent flow of swells with a clear southern component over weeks on weeks, and the frequency of days with higher swells increases. Of course beginner surfers still have smaller days and protected corners, but for those looking for waves with a little more juice - this is the season!

כמה כיף לראות וללוות את התהליך, מהגל הראשון על הסופט לכיוון החוף והעיניים שנפתחות ומבקשות עוד, דרך הלמידה לשלוט בגלשן הלימוד, הגעה לעצמאות במים ותחושות הסיפוק והחופש שהיא מביאה איתה, מעבר לגלשן קשיח, התאמה אישית של גלשן במיוחד לצרכי ורצונות הגולש ולאחר מכן לליווי, הדרכה והכוונה בהמשך הדרך. לדרך החיים והמסע שנקרא גלישה יש אמנם התחלה אבל אין סוף.. לא משנה באיזה שלב אתם בדרך או מה ההרגשה הבאה שאתם מחפשים, אני כאן בשבילכם עם הנסיון והכלים לספק לכם אותה ומעבר.

It’s so fun to see and help guide through the process, from the very first wave on the softboard towards the beach and the eyes that open up and ask for more, through learning to control ones board, transitioning to a “real” board, customizing and fitting of a board specifically to the needs and wishes of the surfer and later guiding and instructing down the road. To this way of life and journey that’s called surfing has a start, but has no end. Doesn’t matter in which stage of the surf journey you are or what’s the next feeling you’re looking for, I’m here for you with the experience and tools to provide it for you and
beyond.
