Spicy Salsa Contest, Hot Pepper Eating Contest (child and adult divisions), and the old favorite Chili Guaro Competition!

Hi everyone. It's been a while. Just wanted you all to know that we've closed the Sailing Center. The restaurant is still in operation and the pool is open. But the sailing side of things has come to an end.

It's been an honor to be part of this community. We want to thank everyone who joined, participated in our kooky events, enjoyed a bonfire and a sunset, or went for a sail. We had a great time.

If you have any questions or need to go sailing, we still have great contacts to get you out on the water.

We wish you all well and will see you, we hope, down the road.

If you don’t have a Chili Fest refrigerator magnet, were you ever really here? Three ways to get your 2024 Chili Fest magnet: 1. Enter the Chili Cook Off 2. Enter the Chiliguaro Contest 3. Finish at least one hot pepper in the Hot Pepper Eating Contest. Chili Fest 2024 is Saturday October 5, starting at 2pm. Costa Rica Sailing Center, Playa Potrero, Guanacaste. DJ all day, tastings start at 2pm, winner announced at 5:30, Hot Pepper Contest immediately following, live music at 7pm!!

The 9th Annual Sailing Center Chili Cook Off, Chiliguaro Contest, and Hot Pepper Eating Contest (both child and adult divisions) will take place on Saturday Oct. 5th starting at 2pm.

Spots are still available to join the Chili Cook Off and Chiliguaro Contest. Sign ups for the Hot Pepper Eating contest (with their custom machete top prizes) are done on-site (so you can sign the waiver forms).

Entry to the event is:
$20 general entry
$10 kids 12-under
Costa Rica Sailing Center Members 50% off.
