3 for 3 on Pacific sailfish! 🔥🎣

Stuart and his two sons, Ford and Harvey, went a perfect 3 out of 3 on sailfish during our 3/4 offshore trip. The bite was on early, and we made it count right away.

Later in the morning, we raised another three fish that came in hot but just window-shopped the baits and wouldn’t commit.

All in all, an amazing day on the water with great action and even better company. 🌊

Mixed action the last couple of days!

Two days ago inshore we raised around 8 roosterfish 🔥 one of them ate but on conventional gear, not the fly. Still chasing that clean eat on the popper! We had a few looks and one solid shot, but no luck sticking them on fly. Also landed a needlefish.
Yesterday offshore started strong with a sailfish teasing perfectly right to the boat… but things got a little chaotic with crossed teaser lines and we missed our shot. After that it slowed down, with a few free jumpers but no commits.

Switched to conventional in the afternoon and made it happen 💪
Final count: 2 for 5 sailfish, 1 mahi-mahi

Small mahi are around—super aggressive, chasing poppers but not fully committing.

Mahi mahi on the fly!
Epic day yesterday with our new friends from Montana. We raised 10 roosterfish, and 2 fully committed, crushing the fly hard, but we just couldn’t get them to stick.

Plenty of action all morning, even if the roosters didn’t come tight. That’s just fishing, and that’s what keeps you coming back.

Finn and his dad are back at it with us today—let’s see if we can seal the deal this time 🎣🔥

Father & Son Trip 🎣

Antonio and his dad had one condition for their trip with us — lots of popping and jigging. They wanted a fully hands-on experience, working the rods and reels themselves… and as you know, we love that style of fishing.

We woke up a little earlier than usual and headed to a nearby rock. Boom! 💥 A solid sea bass smashed the jig right away.

After that, we worked our way inshore. While slow-trolling live bait, the guys kept casting poppers — explosive surface strikes, fish blowing up on the lure, pure adrenaline. One roosterfish crushed a popper, got hooked… and then spit the hook after an epic fight.

We stayed on them and finished the day strong: two hard-fighting jacks and a beautiful roosterfish on live bait.

Hands-on, high energy, and memories that’ll last a lifetime. That’s what it’s all about.

Feb 4 Offshore Trip – Fly Legend II 🎣

3 Yellowfin tuna • 1 out of 3 sailfish

David came out with one clear request: tuna. We had just installed brand-new tuna tubes, so it was time to put them to work. After almost an hour at the plantado trying to make live bonitos happen—and getting zero cooperation—we called it. No stress… we’re not afraid of artificial lures 😎

We ran to a solid tuna pod and marked them on the sounder sitting around 100 feet. That was our cue to break out the slow-pitch jigs. The bite turned on fast—6 solid bites, 3 fish landed, all on slow pitch.

We also raised three sailfish, hooking and releasing one beauty to round out the day.

New gear tested. Mission accomplished. Tuna in the box.

The big ones are showing up! 🎣🔥
Great trip yesterday with our friends from Texas. This was Kathy’s very first time fishing, and what a way to start! She landed this stunning 50-inch roosterfish, fighting it completely on her own from start to finish.

At Fly Legend Fishing, we believe in teaching and letting our guests do the work. From catching the bait, to feeding it to the fish, and setting the hook themselves—every step is part of the experience. We don’t hook the fish and hand over the rod.

Final score for the day: 2 out of 3 roosterfish landed. We lost another big one after it straightened the hook. That’s fishing! 💪
