In the village of Cimarrones de Siquirres, everyone already knew doña Yorleny Carranza. Her cooking did the talking! Her Rice-n-Beans with Caribbean Style chicken? Legendary.
Two years ago, Doña Yorleny turned that gift into something extraordinary. She opened her home to the world as Homestay Ruta Caribeña, a stop along El Camino de Costa Rica where travelers are welcomed not as guests but as family. What began with one spare room inside her home has blossomed into two additional new rooms and a beautiful restaurant tucked into her lush backyard, surrounded by tropical plants and the songs of birds.
And the best part? She doesn’t need to do it alone. Today, her daughters Yarima and Yuraima stand beside her, turning a dream into a family business, a home into a destination, and a tradition into a future. Together, they embody the warmth of Tico hospitality, the flavor of the Caribbean, and the strength of women who bet on themselves and win."
Doña Yorleny, Yarima, and Yuraima show us that passion, courage, and a good plate of food can change everything.🫶🍃
