This wonderful lady is doña María Luz Monge, from the small village of Esquipulas, near Manuel Antonio. Doña Luz has been making the most delicious meals in her wooden stove for the last 40 years. She is well known among the white water rafters and kayakers in the Naranjo River, who always stop by her home for her honey plantains and her Arroz con Leche. 5 years ago she started receiving the hikers on the Camino de Costa Rica, who not only get a delicious meal but also a cool shower and a breezy nap in her patio. 🍃🫶
