Sierpe Mangrove and Corcovado Tours

Sierpe Mangrove and Corcovado Tours We will take you to know one of the largest and most important wetlands in Central America and the m We have a confortable boat with local english spoken guide.

Come to Sierpe and join to the Mangrove Tour in the Sierpe River. The Mangroves are full of life, and perhaps one of the basic reasons for its great diversity, is that there are 2 different types of habitats; one when the area is flooded at high tide, which gives the opportunity for fish, turtles, birds that prey on fish, lizards, among others. And a different habitat when the water leaves at low tide. Things begin to dry up and small animals appear looking for food such as crabs, sediment, trapped fish, and bird’s fruit, among others. This tour is a slowly boat ride near the banks of the Sierpe River where you can watch not only the mangrove forest, but also the animals that live and get feed in it, such as birds, crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, sloths, raccoons...

Corcovado: This trip offers you the opportunity to be immersed in the beauty of the rainforest and to see an amazing variety of wildlife. You will explore the area around the ranger station where you may see monkeys, sloths, coatis, agoutis, toucans, macaws, and possibly the endangered Tapir...
You can choose to visit the San Pedrillo station or the Sirena station. Contact us for more information by email: [email protected]

The presence of whales in Costa Rica reflects the richness of the ocean.
During a visit to Caño Island, we went snorkeling and, on the way back, we were able to see them. 💙🐋

Would you like to visit Caño Island? Send us a message and we’ll be happy to help you plan your tour.
The whales are still close to our coastline 🐋

Mangrove boa in Costa Rica

Hidden between roots and shadows… the mangrove boa moves in silence.
Powerful, patient, and perfectly camouflaged.

No venom. Just pure strength.

Seeing one in the wild? That’s the kind of moment you don’t forget.

🦇✨ The real heroes of the night (and no, they’re not Dracula)

When night falls and everything gets quiet, a small army gets to work… insect-eating bats!

Yes, the same ones many people imagine as elegant vampires with capes 🧛‍♂️… but the truth is way more interesting (and helpful).

🌿 Did you know?
A single bat can eat thousands of insects in just one night. Mosquitoes included. So while you’re sleeping, they’re making sure you don’t wake up covered in bites 😅

🌎 Why are they so important?

- They control pests naturally (less chemicals, more balance)
- They protect crops 🌱
- They help keep ecosystems healthy
- They are indicators of a healthy environment

👀 So… why are we afraid of them?
Mostly because of myths and movies. But the vast majority of bats:
✔️ Do not drink blood
✔️ Do not attack people
✔️ Prefer insects over getting anywhere near you

💡 Honestly, they’re probably more afraid of you than you are of them.

🌙 Next time you see one flying at sunset, instead of being scared… think:
“There goes my personal mosquito bodyguard” 😂

💚 Protecting them means protecting our environment.

Uno aquí corriendo por todo… y este mae viviendo su mejor vida 😂

El perezoso de tres dedos en Costa Rica:
No corre
No se estresa
No contesta rápido
Y aún así… todo le sale bien

👉🏻 Plot twist:
Solo baja del árbol una vez por semana… y justo ese día decide que es buena idea caminar lento en plena jungla.

Legalmente, este animal no es vago… es un incomprendido.
Está en otro nivel: modo zen salvaje

We were cruising calmly on a river tour when suddenly… we heard something.

Not just any sound.
Out of the shadows, an American crocodile appeared, holding what looked like a pig.

It all happened in seconds—raw power, water, and real nature unfolding right in front of us.

As intense as it feels, this is part of how the ecosystem stays balanced.

No show, no script… just real life.

The scarlet macaw is more than just beautiful… it’s essential to our forests.

Every time it flies, it plants life—spreading seeds, regenerating the forest, and helping maintain the natural balance of the South Pacific of Costa Rica.

But its story hasn’t always been easy. Habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade once pushed it close to disappearing from many areas.

Seeing it fly free today is a reminder that conservation truly makes a difference.

Protecting them isn’t optional… it’s our responsibility. 🦜💙

In Corcovado National Park, the Central American tapir plays a key role in maintaining the balance of the forest 🌿

Known as the “forest gardener,” it disperses seeds that help regenerate the forest, creates paths used by other animals, and its presence is a sign of a healthy ecosystem.

Yesterday, during our Corcovado tour, we had the incredible opportunity to spot one of these amazing animals.

Protecting it means protecting all of Corcovado’s biodiversity.
