During one of our birdwatching tours, we had the chance to observe this stunning Scarlet-rumped Tanager shining bright in its natural habitat. Its deep black body combined with a vivid red rump makes it one of the most eye-catching birds in Costa Rica.

✨ Males display the bright red coloration, while females are usually more orange-brown — a perfect example of how different sexes can look in the bird world.
