PROMETÍ

Prometí no llevar la carga de los rencores, porque hunden el corazón y quitan la sonrisa.

Prometí dejar atrás a las personas que tiñen de gris mi mirar, porque aprendí a entender que son callejones sin salida.

Prometí llorar cuando lo necesite pero sólo para no sentirme tan pesada, porque las lagrimas que no se liberan, pudren mi paz.

Prometí no soltarle la mano a mi niña interior, porque a su lado sé que no voy a perder la inocencia.

Prometí no silenciar mi arte, porque las veces que lo hice, me costó respirar.

Prometí alejarme a tiempo de los sitios en los que me ahoga estar, porque me respeto.

Prometí disfrutar más, porque al fin y al cabo, la vida es sólo un suspiro.

Prometí mirarme más a los ojos frente al espejo, contemplarme y amarme, porque soy mi propio hogar y lo llevo conmigo a donde quiera que vaya.

Prometí no dejar de escribir, transformar la palabra en medicina cuando me enfermo de vanidad, porque soy humana.

Prometí todo esto y mucho más, porque lo merezco.

It’s a hard enough thing to just keep going in this sometimes chaotic world we are living in now.
Uncertainty and changing times have everyone a little nervous and unsure where we are headed..
So, let’s step back, step up and support each other.
It’s easy to sit back and criticize someone else without getting involved.
Stop for a moment and try to realize that you don’t know where someone has been..
You don’t know the battles they fight and the journey they’ve had.
So, instead of judging them, let’s try to do something different-
Let’s step up, encourage, empathize and support the people around us.
You don’t have to approve of them or their choices to be in their corner..
And it doesn’t cost you anything.
There’s already too much hate in the world, so let’s put love out there for a change.
Maybe you’ll call me naive and unrealistic, but I’ve seen what love and support can do for someone.
Stand in the fire beside your brothers and sisters and fight alongside them, not against them.
We don’t have to put others down to succeed.
I want you to hold my hand so that together, we can rise again…stronger, wiser and better than before.
I don’t care where you come from, what you believe in or what you do and don’t have..
I’ve got your back.
We can all win together- it just takes love, heart and a little courage.
So, let’s all stop thinking small, getting caught up in only the things we want and start being warriors.
None of us has to be extraordinary to be there for someone else.
We just have to care.
So, maybe today, let’s all stop seeing just what’s in the mirror and start looking around for someone else struggling.
Stand in the fire with them and you’ll find that you can soon do anything.
We’ve got this.
No more excuses and division.
More love and inclusion.
The change all starts with us.
Together, we all rise.
