On February 15, Serbia celebrates Statehood Day 🇷🇸

This date is linked to two key events in Serbian history. First, on February 15, 1804, the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire began — a decisive step toward restoring Serbian statehood. Second, on the same day in 1835, Serbia adopted its first constitution, one of the most progressive legal documents in Europe at the time.

The holiday is also known as Sretenje, as it coincides with the Orthodox feast of the Presentation of the Lord. In this way, faith, the will of the people, and statehood are symbolically intertwined in Serbian history.

☝️Please note: February 15, 16, and 17, 2026 are public holidays in Serbia. Museums, banks, and other institutions may be closed, so we recommend checking opening hours in advance before planning your visit.

Belgrade is one of the most affordable capitals in Europe. It’s easy to explore the city, eat well, and enjoy guided tours without constantly watching your budget.
💶 Average daily budget per person (traveling as a couple):
€95–150 — low winter season
€115–175 — spring and autumn
€145–215 — summer and Christmas holidays
This usually includes accommodation in a good hotel or apartment, meals in cafés and restaurants, transportation, museums, guided tours, and a few souvenirs.
💡 Tip: cards are widely accepted in Belgrade, but carrying some cash in Serbian dinars is always useful for bakeries and small local cafés known as kafanas.
Belgrade feels welcoming in every season — and it’s usually kind to your budget, too. Come and we'll show you the hotspots of the city.

Belgrade is stunning in every season.
Not only in warm spring light or under the summer sun, but also on days like this — when snow sparkles under a clear winter sky.
Today the city felt quiet, bright, and effortlessly beautiful.

✨ Recently our travelers explored Belgrade, starting from its very heart — Republic Square. The monument to Prince Mihailo was the perfect meeting point, a great starting spot for our city walk, and of course — a place for a memorable photo with the guide 📸

From August 21 to 24, the air in Belgrade will be filled with even more irresistible aromas of grilled meat and fresh pastries.

Belgrade in summer means blazing sun, scorching fortress stones, and the intense midday heat — especially in July and August when temperatures can easily reach +35°C. To make sure your walk doesn’t turn into a challenge, here are a few tips from our guides and happy tourists:

👕 Light clothing
Go for breathable fabrics like linen or cotton in light colors. Belgrade’s summer style is relaxed and casual — shorts, t-shirts, sundresses and hats are perfectly fine, even in the city center.

👟 Comfortable shoes
Our tours are real walks: through parks, over cobblestones and pavements. Sandals with good soles or sneakers are ideal. Flip-flops? Best left for the beach.

🧴 Sun protection is a must
SPF 30–50 sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat aren’t accessories — they’re survival gear. The midday sun here is strong.

💧 Water
Always carry a small bottle of water. Sure, you can buy one anywhere, but having it on hand makes all the difference.

🎒 Backpack over a handbag
It’s convenient, hands-free, and perfect if you want to snap a photo of the Danube or grab a postcard from a street stall.

And most importantly — embrace the moment. Belgrade might be hot, but it’s generous, vibrant, and full of life.

Meet the living legend of Belgrade - Joca the dog.
A beloved figure among locals and tourists, Joca has become part of the city's heartbeat. You might spot her wandering freely through the streets, greeting passersby, or even accompanying walking tours.

Joca is more than a dog — she’s a living legend. She reminds us that Belgrade is a city with an open heart, where everyone — human or animal — finds their place.

🐕 If you see Joca on the stroll through the city, don’t forget to say hello. She just might become your most unforgettable guide (as well as we might😀).

Today, we bow our heads to commemorate the millions who endured the horrors of the Second World War.

Serbia — then part of Yugoslavia — suffered immense losses and lived through one of the darkest chapters in its history: occupation, concentration camps, and the long fight for freedom. The National Liberation Movement became a symbol of courage and resistance, and the cost of victory was immeasurable.

In Belgrade and its surroundings, monuments, memorials, and museums still bear witness to this time. Here are just a few:

📍 The Monument to the Fallen Fighters of the Kosmaj Detachment near the village of Koraćica
📍 The Memorial Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade (1944)
📍 Jajinci Memorial Park — one of the largest memorials to the victims of fascism in Serbia
📍 The Banjica Concentration Camp Museum
📍 Staro Sajmište Memorial Park on the banks of the Sava River

Each of these places is not just a part of history — they invite reflection on the true cost of peace.

🇷🇸 May memory unite us, and may travel help us understand how deeply this great and tragic chapter is woven into Serbia’s story.

This Sunday, Christians around the world celebrate Easter — but how is it marked in Serbia?

In Serbia, Easter is one of the most cherished holidays of the year. After the long weeks of Lent, the festive table overflows with generosity — as only the Balkans can offer.

The most beloved symbol of Serbian Easter is the painted egg (farbana jaja), most often dyed red. On Easter morning, families across the country take part in a joyful “egg duel” — the one whose egg remains uncracked is said to enjoy good fortune all year long.

What’s on the table?

🥖 Česnica — a festive bread adorned with braids or crosses, often topped with Easter eggs
🍗 Roast lamb with golden potatoes
🥟 Gibanica — a flaky cheese-and-egg pie that no Serbian celebration would be complete without..and much more. Here, no guest leaves the table hungry.

The traditional Easter greeting is:
“Hristos vaskrse!” — “Vaistinu vaskrse!”
(“Christ is risen!” — “Truly He is risen!”)

In Serbia, Easter is more than a religious holiday. It is a day filled with the sound of church bells, the aroma of home baking, and the warmth of being together.
