You will notice that there are a group of children on the streets of Mindelo who will ask for food items or money to help them purchase something to eat. These children are part of a growing population of youth who leave their homes due to lack of resources, or parents who are not fit to provide support due to alcoholism or other reasons; these children are often referred to as "Street Children". These children form a family of peers, and work together to "survive" - We see so much potential in these children! In their circumstances, against adversity, they manage to care for one another and survive the streets. We have work to do! We want to take these children out on excursions, hear their stories, prepare a meal together, dine with proper etiquette, teach them the English language, help them realize the importance of education, and how it can make a difference! Most importantly, they can do what they dream so long as they take the steps to realize their dream!
