"Pandemic"
This photo was taken in March 2020.
Cape Verde was about to enter a state of emergency, the island going into lock-down. The airport and port were already closed. We were about to face a period of deep uncertainty as tourism was the driving force behind the island's economy.

The intense dry mist (bruma seca) and a ghostly beach represent man's dramatic impotence in the face of events. It reminds us that as guests on this planet we play a fundamental role in its own evolution, until the game ends because we have no cards left.

But are we paying attention to what is happening around us?
Are we learning anything from this experience?
