As turtle nesting season reaches its peak, our beaches continue to receive plastic bottles, fishing nets, and other marine debris brought in by the ocean.

This week, our team headed to Costa Fragata Natural Reserve to do our part and give back to the nature that gives us so much. 💚

Every piece of plastic removed means a safer beach for the loggerhead sea turtles that are nesting right now, and for the tiny hatchlings that will soon begin their incredible journey to the sea. 🐢✨

Protecting these beaches is not just part of our job—it's our responsibility and our passion. Together, we can help keep one of Sal Island's most important nesting sanctuaries clean, safe, and wild for generations to come.

🌙🐢 TURTLE SEASON IS HERE! 🐢🌙

The turtle season has officially started on Sal Island, and we couldn’t be happier to be back on the beach, sharing these incredible nights with our guests and witnessing one of nature’s most magical moments. ✨

In this photo, you can see three important elements of the turtle’s journey. 🌊

The sand dunes are a vital natural protection barrier, helping to shield the nests and the beach ecosystem from the impact of the ocean and human activity.

But there is also a growing threat: light pollution. Artificial lights can confuse newly hatched baby turtles, drawing them away from the natural glow of the horizon and towards roads, hotels and other dangerous areas instead of the ocean. 🌃🐢

The small stick marking the nest is part of the work carried out by Project Biodiversity, helping identify nests that may need to be relocated to safer areas when light pollution puts the hatchlings at risk. Every small action can make a difference in giving these tiny turtles a better chance to reach the sea. 💙

A magnificent mother loggerhead turtle, returning to the beach to lay her eggs — a journey she has made instinctively, following an ancient cycle that has continued for millions of years.

Watching her dig her nest and carefully lay her eggs under the stars is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. 🐢✨

This is not just a tour. It is a moment of connection with nature — experienced with respect, patience and as little impact as possible.

We joined forces with our amazing team to clean up the beach at Serra Negra Natural Reserve! Just in time for turtle nesting season! 🧹💚

Every year, endangered loggerhead turtles return to our shores to lay their eggs, and it's up to all of us to make sure they find a clean, safe place to do so. By removing plastic and waste, we’re not only protecting marine life but also contributing to a more sustainable and responsible future for Sal Island.
