Cyprus on top of Oceania

On August 1st, Roman Starikovich and Maxim Ryashin reached the summit of Carstensz Pyramid (4,884 m) - the highest peak in Oceania and one of the most remote climbs on Earth.

Located in a conflict zone in West Papua, the expedition took almost 5 years to make happen. This was only the second successful ascent of the mountain in 2025

1 августа Роман Старикович и Максим Рящин покорили Пирамиду Карстенса (4 884 м) - самую высокую точку Океании и одну из самых труднодоступных вершин в мире.
⠀
Маршрут проходит через зону вооружённого конфликта в Западной Папуа, а на подготовку ушло почти 5 лет. Это всего вторая успешная экспедиция на Джайю за весь 2025 год.
