If you’re in Czechia on your own and “waiting for the perfect moment” to bring your family… read this.

It usually sounds like:
🗣️I need a better job first.
🗣️We need more savings.
🗣️My Czech isn’t good enough yet.
🗣️The kids are not ready.

The truth? There is no perfect moment.
There will always be another reason to wait.

Your real choice is not between chaos and no chaos. It’s between:
💣random chaos (no plan, no expectations)
🎬planned chaos (test stay, budget, schools, clear conditions for your partner)

If you’ve been “waiting” for months or years… this is your sign.

👉 Comment WAITING if this is you.

Your family’s first visit to the Czech Republic should be more than cafés and viewpoints.

If you’re serious about maybe moving them here, they need to see real life: school, grocery store, pharmacy, playground, your actual commute.

Pretty places are nice.
But everyday places decide whether life here will actually work for your partner and kids.

👉 Send this to your partner if they still think this trip is “just a holiday”.

Thinking about inviting your family to Czechia on a short-stay “C visa” – but worried about the costs and the paperwork? 🇨🇿

For many expats, this is the first real chance to:
– bring partner & kids to see where you live
– test how they actually feel about life in Czechia
– start preparing for future family reunification

In this post, I break down realistic 2025 costs of a family test stay (not just a holiday) – from accommodation and food to transport and activities.
So you know if you’re looking at a budget, mid-range or comfortable version of the trip.

And you don’t have to do it alone.
We can:
– guide you through the C visa application with our trusted partners
– help you choose dates, length and budget that make sense
– design a day-by-day test stay plan: schools, neighbourhoods, shopping, everyday routines – not only tourist sights

If you’re already in Czechia on your own and want your family to visit on a C visa in the next 3–12 months, this is the moment to plan it properly.

👉 Comment “BUDGET” or DM me “TEST STAY BUDGET”
and I’ll send you:
– a simple cost template for a family test stay, and
– details on how we can handle the visa process and the stay for you, step by step.

🇨🇿💣The biggest mistake expats make when their family visits Czechia?
They treat it like a holiday, not a test of real life.

If your family is coming in the next 12 months, don’t waste that trip.

👉 Comment FAMILY or DM “TEST STAY”
and we’ll send you 3 key questions to ask your partner after the visit.

Planning to invite your family to Czechia on a short-stay “C visa” for family visit? 🇨🇿

For many expats, this is the first realistic chance to:
– bring partner & kids to see where you live
– test how they feel about Czechia
– start preparing for future family reunification

But here’s the catch:
– the C visa is short (up to 90 days in Schengen)
– the process can be slow and formal
– most people use it only as a “holiday ticket”

Instead, you can treat this visit as a structured test stay:
– choose dates that make sense for visas, schools and your work
– plan days that mix real life (shopping, school visits, transport) with nice memories
– use the trip to have honest conversations about “could we actually live here together?”

We are not an immigration lawyer and we won’t file your application for you – but we can help you turn that hard-earned C visa into a meaningful test of real life in Czechia,
not just a few tourist photos in Prague or Brno.

👉 If you’re:
– already in Czechia on your own, and
– thinking about inviting your family on a C visa in the next 3–12 months,

comment “VISA” or DM me “FAMILY VISIT”
and we’ll send you:
– a simple C-visa visit checklist (what to think about before you choose dates), and
– my framework to turn a short family visit into a proper test stay.

🎯 How we help you:

🚨 Starting a new job in Czechia? New rules apply from yesterday!

From 1 October 2025, every employer in Czechia must report a foreign national to the Labour Office BEFORE the very first minute of work begins.

👉 This isn’t just about visas or work permits. The rule covers all non-Czech citizens:
EU/EFTA/Swiss nationals and their family members
Holders of temporary protection
Foreigners with free access to the labour market
Holders of work permits, employment cards, blue cards, or ICT permits

⚠️ What does this mean for you?
You can’t start working (not even training or “just helping for an hour”) until your employer files the notification.
Filing can still happen on the same day, but it must be done before you begin.
If inspectors visit and the report isn’t in, it counts as undeclared work and fines for the employer can reach CZK 3,000,000.

💡 Practical tip for expats:
Ask your employer for a quick confirmation (email or screenshot) that the report has been filed. Keep it for your own records it’s your safety net.

📌 Nothing else changes in the process itself it’s all digital since 2024. The only change is when the report must be filed: always before you start.

✈️ Good news for travellers from Prague Airport!
From 1 October 2025, if you’re flying within the Schengen Area from Terminal 2, security just got easier:
💧 You can now bring one larger liquid container up to 2 litres per person (yes, even a full water bottle!) – in addition to your usual 1-litre plastic bag of small bottles.

🖥 Thanks to new CT scanners, you also don’t need to remove liquids or electronics at selected security lanes.

⚠️ But be careful! This rule applies only to Terminal 2 (Schengen flights).
If you’re flying from Terminal 1 (non-Schengen flights), the old rules remain – liquids must still be in containers up to 100 ml inside a 1-litre bag.

💡 Travel tip: Rules at other European airports may still differ. Larger bottles may be confiscated on your return or at transfer airports that don’t yet have the new scanners.

👉 Not sure which rules apply to your flight? Check your terminal before travelling or visit the official Prague Airport website for updates.

✅ In short:
Terminal 2 (Schengen): 1 container up to 2 l + 1-litre bag allowed.
Terminal 1 (non-Schengen): old 100 ml rule still applies.
Transfers: check local rules.

💉 Mandatory Vaccinations in the Czech Republic – What Foreigners Need to Know

If you or your children live in the Czech Republic with long-term or permanent residence, you must follow the same vaccination schedule as Czech citizens.

👶 Children
Mandatory vaccinations cover the following diseases:
💉Tuberculosis (BCG) – only for children at risk
💉Hexa vaccine (diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, hepatitis B, Hib infection)
💉Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR vaccine)
💉Booster shots for diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough at later ages

🚸Important: Children without mandatory vaccinations may not be admitted to kindergartens or preschools.

Adults
💉Booster vaccination against tetanus is required every 10–15 years.
💉Vaccinations may be required for certain professions (healthcare, teaching, food industry).
💉In some cases, vaccination against hepatitis B is necessary for residence or employment purposes.

⚠️ What happens if you don’t comply?
❗️Your child may be refused entry to preschool.
❗️You could face fines during inspections.
