The interiors of Český Krumlov Castle reopened on April 1—marking the start of the season in Český Krumlov.

Even better? It’s just 1.5–2 hours from Linz, and easily reached via private door-to-door day trips from Linz, Passau, or Vilshofen an der Donau.

Guests are picked up directly at their ship docking location in Linz, Passau, or Vilshofen an der Donau by a private driver and taken through the scenic landscapes of Upper Austria and South Bohemia—making the journey as memorable as the destination.

As a local guide from Český Krumlov, I take care of full-day trips personally—guiding and driving, while sharing stories, history, and local insights throughout the journey.

Guiding, Exploring, Embracing Change

I’ve loved being a tour guide since 2001, sharing the beauty, history, and stories of Český Krumlov with visitors from around the world. Guiding isn’t just my job — it’s my passion.

This year, I spent 16 days traveling in Ecuador during the off-season. I hired local guides, supported local communities, and had the incredible opportunity to share my guiding experience with Ecuadorian colleagues. I especially enjoyed learning from Francisco Estrella Quito, whose insights added depth to my understanding of local culture.

Visiting Cuenca, I was amazed by how much it resembles Český Krumlov — both UNESCO World Heritage cities with rich history and stunning architecture. Cuenca quickly became my favorite, and I loved exploring its streets, markets, and culture.
Experiences like this recharge me and bring fresh ideas back to my tours.

As the next season approaches, I’m ready to embrace the challenges and changes this year has already brought, bringing the same passion, flexibility, and energy to every tour.

🚴‍♂️ Just completed the incredible 6 day ! 450 km of cycling through stunning landscapes, climbing a total of 5500 m. 🌄 From the coastal charm of Folonica to the medieval beauty of Pienza, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, this self-supported adventure was a true test of endurance and spirit. Starting and ending in Donoratico, every pedal stroke was a journey through history and culture. What a great way to travel. 🙏Thank you Martin!
