Spanish Synagogue (Prague)
The synagogue has the most remarkable elaborate interior, every surface is covered by elaborate Islamic-style polychrome and gilded patterns, some painted and some carved or molded.

During the Second World War, the N***s used this building as a repository for property taken from the Jews.

Zamek-Sychrov
Sychrov Castle can be found near the village Sychrov in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It is unique example of a Neo-Gothic castle from second half of 19th century. The first known reference to Sychrov is in the 15th century, when a hill-fort stood there.
A beautiful Chateau and wondrous surrounding gardens to spend the day exploring. I absolutely fell in love with the wooden carved staircase.

Praděd
Starting in the Spa Resort town of Karlova Studánka below this glorious mountain, we spent the day Hiking to the Praděd summit.
Praděd is the highest mountain of the Hrubý Jeseník mountains in the Czech Republic. (1491m) The average annual temperature is about 1°C. A television transmitter is situated on the top, 162 m high (Wiki)
Thank heavens for the cool temperature for it was a hard slog!
But the view at the top of the tower was spectacular, the beer was cold and how could you not have a couple of "Praděd" liquor shots to warm you up.
We enjoyed a lunch of Goulash Soup and then headed back down the mountain to walk through the Spa Resort and drank from the Mineral spring.

Prachovské skály - The Prachov Rocks
Mysterious passages and towering rocks, a fantastic day hiking.

The beginnings of settlement in Prachov skály, can be traced to ancient times there is evidence of people from the Neolithic period , There are even traces of Celtic settlements. The Slavs extensive system of fortifications can be found in the rock town.

Ještěd, a memorable stop on our tour! One of our participants took the opportunity on our stop here to propose!!! Very Romantic with a view to die for! We also took the opportunity to take a joy flight around Jested and Liberec... (More details in a later post!)

Ještěd is the highest mountain peak (1,012 m) of the Ještěd-Kozákov Ridge near Liberec in the north of the Czech Republic.
On the peak is a unique building, in the shape of a "Rotational Hyperboloid" often described as looking like a space ship!. This is a multi purposed building, functioning as a Hotel and a Television tower / Weather station.
Designed by Karel Hubáček, winning a national competition to design the new structure in the 19th Century.

Frýdlant Zamek, the 13th century castle and Chateau was well worth the visit.
The castle had a museum as early as 1801 and today is one of the most visited in the Czech Republic.
Czech out the amazingly decorated walls of the Chateau, would you believe the bricks are actually painted onto the plaster.

After the Chateau we had a traditional lunch at the Obří sud, a restaurant in the shape of Barrel, amazing!

Panská skála
The most beautiful example of the columnar separation of basalt, found in the oldest Geological Reserve (protected since 1895). Below the rock is a small Lake.
Walking around this beautiful reserve you are thrown into the scene of a famous Czech children's Fairytale, Pyšná princezna (The Proud Princess).

Skryje Pools

In this fairytale world near Skryje, inside the Křivoklát protected landscape, lies these wonderful pools.
The brook makes its way through the cliffs, leaps down a short waterfall and wildly cascades,spreading its waters in several picturesque well hidden pools. A romantic spot with over 250 species of vascular plants.

Budweiser Budvar Brewery (Budějovický Budvar)
Is one of the highest selling beers in the Czech Republic and exports into more than 60 countries across all continents brewing in České Budějovice, dates back to the 13th century Kingdom of Bohemia.
The original Budweiser Beer was founded here in 1785. The company began exporting to the United States in 1871. In the U.S. Anheuser-Busch started using the Budweiser brand in 1876 and registered it two years later.

Centrum Babylon (Liberec).... Play time!!!!
This unique complex offered so much fun and entertainment.
With water slides, pools that passed through tunnels, hot and cold spa's, saunas it was the complete experience!
After a swim we headed over for a couple rounds of bowling, had a go in the Golf Simulator, the XD Theatre and Laser games. There was so much here to amuse the young and old.
We had a traditional Czech lunch and a few Bevies at the Staročeská rychta, A traditional Czech pub with full-bodied beer and Czech cuisine.

This could be by far my favourite stop on the Tour!!!
This "Bone" Church is Creepy but extremely fascinating out these Decorations have you ever seen anything like it?
The Sedlec Ossuary is a small Chapel, located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints.
The ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of between 40,000 and 70,000 people, whose bones have in many cases been artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel, Four enormous bell-shaped mounds occupy the corners of the chapel. An enormous chandelier of bones, which contains at least one of every bone in the human body, hangs from the center of the nave with garlands of skulls draping the vault.

Most -
Came into exhistance during the late 14th Century, replacing a Romanesque bridge torn down by a flood. Named in honour of its founder, the of and Roman Emperor Charles IV.
The entrances are guarded by towers and the bridge is renowned for being lined by 30 individual and group statues of Saints from the 17th to 20h Centuries.
My particular favourite is the of . John of , This statue is the oldest on the bridge, The base portrays scenes from the life of St. John of Nepomuk, including the confession of Queen Johanna and the saint's death. In 1393 St. John of Nepomuk was thrown from the bridge into the river where he drowned. I was told that if I was to rub the image of the dog; this is held to bring good fortune.
The bridge is regularly lined with Musicians and peddlers offering crafted jewels or portraits to tourists.
