On April 25, the legendary Zikmund Bell rang through Saint Vitus Cathedral, marking a powerful and historic moment for the new Archbishop’s ceremony. 🔔✨

Did you know? The Zikmund Bell is the largest bell in the Czech Republic and one of the biggest in Europe. Cast in 1549, it weighs around 15 tons and requires several bell ringers to set it in motion. Because of its immense size, it’s only rung on the most important occasions—making today’s ceremony even more special.

A sound that carries centuries of tradition echoed once again, uniting past and present on this remarkable day.

Every hour on the hour — the Prague Castle guards show discipline and tradition during the exchange guard ceremony.

After the fall of communism in 1989, then-President Václav Havel wanted to change the khaki-style uniforms of the former regime. The design of entirely new uniforms was entrusted to the Oscar-winning costume designer Theodor Pištěk (who won for Amadeus).

The colour scheme—light blue in summer, dark/navy blue in winter—references the historical colours of the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918–1938).

Ok. Let´s make this clear. Cannabis is illegal in the Czech Republic. But why there are that many cannabis shops in the centre of Prague then? Well, you can buy a joint, light it up and smoke it. It will most likely taste good, just there is no high effect… Smoke one more. Still nothing? That´s maybe because there is no THC in this joint 😅😅😅 Secret revealed.

Worth visiting not only for the view!

The clocktower of Saint Nocholas Church in the Little Quarter used to serve as an observation point for the Communist Secret Police (STB). The location was very convenient - close by of the British ambassy, US ambassy and Italian ambassy

Now there is an exhibition of the photos of suspicious people, taken clandestinely by the agents from the tower’s attick.
