INTERCULTURAL FESTIVAL REFUFEST 2017
A three-day joyful celebration of cultural diversity will take place in the industrial premises of 1435mm / Žižkov Freight Station.
During the event, visitors will be able to get acquainted with more than 20 communities of migrants living in Prague through a diverse range of ethnic food, wordmusic and workshops based on national cultures. The idea of the festival is to show the public the culture and talents of migrants living in the Czech Republic with the motto "Meet without Prejudice and Without Fear". The festival will link a campaign focused on love - as a feeling shared by all, regardless of culture. The organizer of the festival is InBase, z.s.

Friday, like last year, will bear in the activist spirit and be associated with the issue of refugees. In co-operation with The We Platform, we will be conducting a discussion on the refugee crisis two years later, and you can also look forward to a screening of the Syrian Lovestory movie about the Syrian situation. Their activities will be presented by nonprofit organizations working with migrants or in war zones. The music program of the evening will be provided by The Odd Gifts, which released the album Migrant Songs last year, and visitors can also look forward to an activist alternative rap portraying the Dark.

Saturday's festival is devoted to the presentation of migrant cultures living in the Czech Republic. This year will feature more than 15 communities including Burma, Venezuela, Russia, Vietnam, Ukraine, Pakistan, Belarus, Indonesia and India. You can also enjoy a range of dance and art workshops for children, teenagers and adults. The music program will take care of bands made up of migrants or the theme of migration expressing themselves who have joined the historically first RefuFest opencall. Visitors can look forward to a very varied musical production that we will gradually decrypt.
Sunday 10:00 - 15:00 - 28.5.2017
Sunday will be similar to that of last year for children, youth and their parents. In addition to the presentation of cultures of different nations, visitors will be able to get involved in a number of workshops or see how many Vietnamese youths are going through the theater of oppressed 2n3. We are also preparing theaters for children and second generation discussions.
Accompanying program
On the occasion of the Exhibition Law, Aj Wej-wej, an accompanying program will take place in the National Gallery. Visitors are 25.5. From 18:00 can enjoy the theater of oppressed 2na3 with F***y coffee performance.
Entrance to the festival and the accompanying program are free of charge.
