Here is the promissed Part Two of my suggestions for your Two-days Trip to Třeboň (The Tripple-T trip:)
Since the first day you did a 50-minutes boat ride through the World (the name of the fishpond "Svět" translated to English sounds good, doesnt it:), and you made your Food tour of the city, trying the famous local carp chips and carot cake, day two will be dedicated to some history and culture.
If you are lucky, on the main square of Třeboň or in the big court yard of the marvelous Castle, you will see several stands with craft-made jewls, clothes, bags and wallets. All materials are natural: wool, leather, glass, precious stones, linen etc. Have a look inside the green Castle Garden and find out the cages with funny and interesting birds.
Climb up the Baroque Old Townhall Tower for a great view of the town and the surrounding nature. In the tower you will see remains of the 1st mechanical clock mechanism and read interesting information about the legends and ghost stories of Třeboň. Visit costs just 30 Kc (cca 1€).
Then head towards the gorgeous park on the other side of the fishpond (just 20 min walk from the main square) to visit the Neo-Gothic Schwarzenberg family tomb. Guided tours are in Czech (100 Kc), German and English (150 Kc cca 6€). The tour takes 45 minutes, you visit the crypt and while watching massive 3-layers metal tombs, you listen about the fascinating lives and adventures of the representatives of this old Czech noble dynasty. They made so much for the development of the Třeboň region and played huge role in the long history of the Bohemian lands.
The most famous contemporary member of the family is Prince Karel Schwarzenberg, Czech politician, 83 years old, who, in 2013, almost won the seat of the Czech President.
Aditionally, you can enjoy in Třeboň classical in the courtyard of the castle, open air movies in the castle , visit to the Regent brewery and many more .
