Since setting foot in this beautiful country I have been amazed by the fact I had never heard of it. Perhaps it keeps itself secret for a reason, but the Beskydy region in Moravia Czech Republic is a lovely little hidden gem of local delights. Luxury is affordable, eating out as a family can be as cheap as chips (literally the price of a bag of chips in the UK). The people are very civil - you can

be in a crowded space yet not feel overwhelmed by the amount of people because they enjoy their own personal space. People here care a lot about kids, they are careful with them, always are calm and loving and this makes this area very child friendly. I would say the only set back is for those that are vegetarian - this place is not unlike France in the early nineties - where a vegetarian dish would be the chicken or the fish option :-) But it's getting better. My daughter is vegetarian so we have noticed the change over the years. Other than that, if you enjoy hearty food, outdoor fun and affordable holidays surrounded by beautiful scenery mostly sunny skies and in quiet yet intelligent company this is a superb little place to visit.

It’s snowy and beautiful in Beskydy at the moment. We went on a sledging trip and after a hot chocolate to warm up after the chair lift up and a quick discover we sledged down the 6km track down again. What an afternoon!
