Oh, my, 2 years have passed since my last post!
Thank you to all who have visited this page in that intervening time. My apologies.
Since that time, events (and the pandemic) happened which caused me to decide to retire from all aspects of touring.
Thank you, again, for your interest and support.
Please, though, continue to enjoy the photos from those incredible destinations from the past. They remain an indelible part of my life. I hope they will, one day, be the same for you!
🥰❤

Regrettably, due to unforeseen circumstances, tours originally planned for 2019 will be postponed and rescheduled. Thank you for your understanding. Happy trails and safe travels!

Although just a few of the pics I took around Bamberg, a World Heritage site, these are from some of the more identifiable locations in town.

While I have a minute, I'm on my way to Bamberg, I'll post a few pics of Rothenberg ob der Tauber. Imagine how great it'll be at Christmas!

Prague is just such a beautiful city! SO much to see and such a short time to see it in! Of course I went to the Old Market Square, where everything seems to happen (in all cities). It's also where the world-famous Astronomical Clock is located. And while I was there, I happen to catch the changing of the guard at the castle. Wow, that was impressive. In my next post, I'll try to upload on of the videos I took. But at least I got a couple of pics of the guards. They look like they're out of the movies!

A few pics from Dresden. Although the entire city was not destroyed, much was. After the war and Dresden was communist, many of the buildings were restored, using as many original stone bricks as possible. Because the Frauenkirche was a religious building, it remained a piled heap until democracy in1989, when it was decided to rebuild. Again, they used as many original bricks as possible. It was completed in 2005. Each effort, as you can imagine, was a giant puzzle, using original pieces in their original places!

Hello from Leipzig! Here visiting ahead of our tour of Eastern European Cities in June.
Leipzig is home to the largest terminus rail station in the world! Also, as the historic center of trade routes since the Middle Ages, as well as the center of education for music, writing (think Schiller & Goethe) & publishing, and trade fairs (remember those trade routes) Leipzig is is very cosmopolitan and still very friendly, too. With a population approaching 600K residents, it's still very walkable, yet had a wonderful, modern public transportation system.
(And BTW, with that background in trade, the shopping is fantastic!)
Come join us for a stroll thru the city center in June!

Although ReVisiting Europe isn't offering a Christmas Market Tour THIS year, we will be in Germany for the Holiday. Here are some images of markets from some of the cities we'll be visiting: Berlin, Magdeburg, Wittenberg, and Meissen. Of course, nighttime images are so much more romantic!

Look for our announcement after the first of the year for our 2019 Christmas Markets Tour.
In the meantime, consider our 11-day/10-night mid-year tour to Berlin, Dresden, Prague, and Leipzig in June (no snow to manage)!
