💥 WTF Berlin: The war isn’t over…

Thousands of Berliners are still being evacuated every year because of unexploded WWII bombs.

Just this week, another bomb was fished out of the Spree River near Nikolaiviertel — forcing a 500-meter evacuation zone in the middle of the city.

And it’s not a one-off. Berlin keeps finding them:

Hauptbahnhof (2018): 12,000 evacuated.

Ostkreuz (2022): 500 kg bomb, whole Ringbahn disrupted.

Alexanderplatz (2019): Alexa mall cleared out.

Neukölln, Zehlendorf, Spandau: each with thousands evacuated.

👉 Fun fact : Germany still recovers 2,000 tons of WWII munitions every year.

Next time your train is delayed… maybe it’s not Deutsche Bahn this time. 💣

🟢 WTF Berlin Fact
Berlin didn’t just invent the diner kebab and currywurst, it also gave the world the modern condom.

In 1912, Jewish entrepreneur Julius Fromm created the first seamless latex condom, sold as Fromms Act. They were so popular that “Fromm” became slang for condom in Germany. By the 1920s, Berlin even had condom vending machines on its streets.
Unfortunately in 1938, Fromm was forced to sell his company to the N***s because he was Jewish. He fled into exile, while his invention lived on.

Next time you see a condom remember: it’s a Berlin invention with a turbulent history.

⚡ WTF Berlin ⚡

The legendary Tresor nightclub today one of the world’s techno temples began in the basement of an apartment building in Kreuzberg.

In 1988 Berlin’s first acidhouse club Ufo opened. This was a tiny illegal space accessed by a ladder that fewer than 100 people could squeeze in.

When Ufo closed the crew moved east and took over the abandoned vaults of the Wertheim department store, opening Tresor in 1991. From a basement to a bank vault, Berlin’s sound went global.
