The truth is that finding a shared apartment or room seems more difficult than winning an Olympic medal or filling a stadium and doing a show worthy of "la Rosalía".

But all is not lost. It is true that realistically it is unlikely that you will arrive and "have beginner's luck" (even so, I have had such cases, but that story for another post that we know each other and I like to write).

The point is that a few months ago I was in the search process with a new family. They didn't know German, between the two of them they had an income of barely 3000€ and a mouth to feed.

Something I have to emphasize is that they were aware that they did not have many chances to win the prize. They were realistic at all times and we did an intensive search on the outskirts of the city. What a ride we had on the s-bahn!

The point is that the long-awaited day arrived. A phone call, an offer of an "Untermietvertrag". The first frown on my face.... An "Untermietvertrag"... to be paid in cash every month... THAT I WOULD MAKE THE CONTRACT FOR HIM! Like, seriously? What?

The truth is that everything smelled fishy to me and where I can't reach, a renter's insurance can give you access to a consultation with a lawyer.

Thanks to this consultation they avoided making a big mistake. Now with the trust broken, we arrived, after 8 weeks of arduous search, another offer, this time with a Staffelmiete of crazy, where every year the rent went up in cold € 100 (not counting that additional costs usually rise each year with inflation ... that we have seen!)

A few months ago we met for coffee and he invited me for breakfast to celebrate that thanks to having taken my advice and joining this tenant insurance, he not only had the contract of the apartment he just moved into revised, but he has also been confirmed that he can apply for the Mietendeckel, so his Staffelmiete will be worthless.

After having fought for a year, accompanying my relocated family as interpreter to their meetings and following the case with them I can say that he who is well informed, can act well.

¿Buscando un apartamento económico?

A día de hoy los precios para vivir en Berlín están volando por la estratosfera. Pero quien algo quiere, tiene que trabajarlo.

Como agente de relocalización, sé la ansiedad que se experimenta cuando acabas de llegar.

😵‍💫No recomiendo buscar en grupos de redes sociales, ya que no hay ninguna garantía y la mayoría son pisos ilegales

🥲¿Por qué ilegales? Porque no ofrecen Anmeldung.

👁! Sin Anmeldung, los vecinos pueden avisar a la persona dueña del piso o a la Hausverwaltung y echarte de la casa en dos semanas en el mejor de los casos...

😓Porque también hay implicaciones legales para quien alquila: demandas por ocupación.

¿POR QUÉ EL 9.11 NO ES EL DÍA DE LA REUNIFICACIÓN ALEMANA?

Si bien es cierto que en 1989, el 9.11 pilló de sorpresa con la caída del muro, a lo largo de la historia de Alemania hubo otros eventos un tanto oscuros.

Por ejemplo, en 1923:

En Múnich, Hi**er, intentaría dar un golpe de estado ("el Putsch") junto con antiguos militares de la primera guerra mundial, en la que él participó del lado de Alemania a pesar de ser austriaco, ya que su antisemitismo y racismo (entre otras lindezas) le hizo salir corriendo de Viena para unirse al ejército alemán en Baviera.

Por otro lado, en 1918, se proclamaría la Replública de Weimar

Una de las consecuencias del ascenso al poder de ese señor austriaco y con bigote, fue precisamente el periodo de inestabilidad política derivado por el fin de la Primera Guerra Mundial.

Surgieron varios partidos políticos antes y durante la guerra, y pocos días antes de su fin, al anunciarse la abdicación del Kaiser Guillermo II, el 9.11.1918 se proclama la República.

Esto conllevaría a la persecución y ejecución de Karl Liebknecht y Rosa de Luxemburgo, líderes del movimiento pacifista que se separó del partido comunista alemán, declarando su propia república el 15.11 del mismo año.
