The Berlin Quadriga… The Gods brings the Peace and Victory message to the city. Located atop the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, it was seized by Napoleon during his occupation of Berlin in 1806 and taken to Paris. The peace goddess Eirene, who decorated the Brandenburg Gate, was transformed into a victorious goddess Victoria after her return from Paris. In classical mythology, the quadriga is the chariot of the gods and emblems of triumph. In other world cities there are also nice examples. The originally undressed goddess gets a robe after 1794 "because she looks so stiff and bald from behind"

Contrast between modernism and history. The sculpture "Berlin" symbolizes the closeness and isolation between the two sides of Berlin during the division. "Berlin" was one of eight sculptures designed during "Skulpturenboulevard Kurfürstendamm" an event commissioned by the city of West Berlin to celebrate Berlin's 750th anniversary in 1987. Behind is the protestant Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, which was heavily damaged during the Bombing of Berlin in World War II.

The sculpture 'Large Red Sphere' by the American artist Walter De Maria in the Türkentor. The Turk's Gate is located in the excellent art district in in the city centre of Munich. It is the only surviving part of the Türkenkaserne barracks, built in 1826 for the Royal Bavarian Army.
