Last week “Gendarmenmarkt” which is said to be one of Berlin’s most beautiful places was really adorable under a flawless blue sky. The towers constructed under Frederic the Great are a representative frame to the place which this year due to construction works won’t be the site for one Berlin’s most charming Christmas Markets. In order to enjoy a mulled wine there one has to move over the place called Bebelplatz next to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.

What a year so far… a guiding season that ended abruptly the moment when it was about to start. Although many of the restrictions imposed as been modyfied or even abolished the situation for tour guides is far from being normal. Last weekend I had my very first tour in the new season and walking down from Museum Island to Brandenburg Gate I eyewitnessed myself the hotspots for tourists in Berlin are still empty in comparisson to pre-Corona-times. Even a major part of my guests is still banned from coming. The EU just prolonged the ban of US citiziens.

So here I am finding new ways to Keep my Business going by addressing locals to learn more about their city. This flyer I will distribute in my neighborhoods during the next days.

Really excited to see whether it works!

Just recently I was invited to a birthday party in a stunning location. Peter Behrens the reknowned Bauhaus architect was one of the first corporate designers in the world and working for AEG. In Berlin Schöneweide, were the original AEG Company sites are located he also designed a boathouse for the rowing club of the AEG workers. After decades of decay it is now being restored by a friend of mine and I had the great opportunity to visit this spectacular treasure during the process of restauration. Just remember Bauhaus School is turning 100 years in 2019. So make sure to come here and get some thorough tours about the world heritage sites of modern housing projects in Berlin and maybe even going to Dessau to the famous Bauhaus School building and the homes of the most reknown Bauhaus architects and artists.

Am Ostersonntag habe ich mit Freunden einen Ausflug nach Havelberg gemacht. Ein sehr pittoresk gelegenes Städtchen, dass sich bei strahlendem Sonnenschein von seiner besten Seite gezeigt hat - das tut natürlich im Grunde jede Stadt. Für eine kleine Landpartie sehr zu empfehlen!
