Crossing into Armenia felt like shifting worlds. New alphabet, new rhythm, but the same Caucasus heartbeat.

From the rusted towers of the Soviet Alaverdi Copper Mine to the deep curves of the Arevatsag Canyon, Armenia unfolded in contrasts. Traces of its industrial past surrounded by raw, untouched beauty.

The winding roads led us to the forest-hidden Haghartsin Monastery, where silence felt sacred, before we climbed toward the Sevan Lake Volcanoes, their dark shapes rising against the blue water.

Beneath it all lingered a quiet sorrow, a weight of history the Armenian people carry with grace and unspoken strength. Each place told a different story, yet all pulsed with the same quiet resilience of a land that has seen darkness and endured, trying to find peace in their nationality.

Driving off-road here feels like crossing another planet – raw, remote, and absolutely breathtaking.

The road into the Greater Caucasus was nothing short of unreal.

We left the asphalt behind and followed a rough, narrow trail through the Truso Valley, a wild ribbon of dirt clinging to the edge of a steep drop. Every turn opened to silence, wind, and vastness.

The mountains grew higher, the air thinner.
By nightfall, we reached snow-covered Abano, near the Russian border, over 2,400 meters above sea level.

We slept surrounded by white peaks and freezing air, where the only sound was the wind against the walls.

Svaneti has its own heartbeat. We climbed into Mestia, where medieval stone towers stand guard over every family. Riding the cable car felt like floating into another era, with glaciers glistening in the distance.

The road to Ushguli – Europe’s highest village – is rugged and relentless, but every bump is worth it. Life here is raw: short summers, long winters, but endless resilience. At the foot of Shkhara Glacier, we stood in silence, humbled by the sheer power of nature.

By day six, our convoy wound through offroad tracks to reach Shaori Lake. From glaciers to forested lakes, Georgia showed us how landscapes can shift in just hours. Nights by the water, with wine cellars included, are when stories sink in deepest.

Three days into our Caucasus overland journey and the adventure already feels unreal.

We crossed the border at the Black Sea, explored the ancient Gonio Fortress, and rolled straight into Batumi’s lively streets. From coastal breezes to volcanic black sand beaches, the contrasts hit hard.

By day 2, the subtropical Batumi Botanical Garden reminded us how diverse Georgia’s climate is – citrus trees on one side, mountain ridges on the other. We closed the day soaking in wild hot springs near Sulori, exactly the way offroad travel should end: tired, muddy, and smiling.

Today, Martvili Canyon blew us away with turquoise water and steep cliffs carved over centuries. Driving deeper into the Caucasus, the mountains rise, and the roads get rougher :) just how we like it.

As every year, we are delighted to be back at Adventure Southside. Thanks to the organizing team, we are able to present trips to Iran at the largest off-road trade fair in southern Germany.

We can hardly look forward to meeting our strong partners like Adventure Offroad (with whom we share the stand) and many other old guests and potential fellow travelers.

Did you know that? 🤯😵‍💫

The earth spins around itself at a speed of 1,670 kilometers per hour. Imagine that.

While we spend the rest on the highest point of the mountain and think that at least for a moment everything stands still, at the same time we are moving twice as fast as an airplane - and around ourselves.
