Important Update on Travel Regulations for the USA!
The German Federal Foreign Office has revised its security advisory concerning entry into the USA, specifically focusing on visa and ESTA applications.
**Key Changes:**
1. **Gender Entry:** Travelers must indicate either "male" or "female" based on their assigned s*x at birth on ESTA or visa applications. Those with a gender marker of “X” or whose current gender does not match their birth gender must carry their birth certificate or certified birth register excerpt.
2. **Entry Control:** A valid ESTA or visa does not guarantee entry. U.S. border officials have the final say. Ensure you have proof of return travel (like flight bookings) for entry.
3. **Device Checks:** U.S. authorities reserve the right to check devices (phones, laptops) at entry, including potential data extraction, for security investigations.
