The Dome in the city of Schleswig is one of the oldest churches in northern Europe.
After years of reconstruction it is now open for the public again.
And yes, It’s marvellous.

What looks like a royal castle once was Germany‘s first Lutheran University.
It was founded in 1576 in the small town of near Brunswick after Martin Luther had sucessfully staged the Reformation.
For times this was the third largest University in the German Reich after Heidelberg and Prague.
When Napoleon conquered Germany he closed the University in 1810. Today the buildings serve as an outpost of Magdeburg University.
So: When travelling from Hanover to Berlin don’t miss a stop in picturesque Helmstedt

Weimar is the town where Goethe and Schiller lived, also as many other literarians and composers of the classical epoque.
Yet, Weimar is still a showcase of the german past with horsedrawn coaches instead of taxis. Worth a visit ♥️

No, this is not the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This is the world's oldest TV Tower, errected 1926 in Berlin, which celebrates it's 90th birthday this year.
Initially it was a radio broadcasting station, but in 1932 the first TV program worldwide was transmitted from here...
The Berliner Funkturm (Berlin Radio Tower) was Nicknamed "der lange Lulatsch" ("the lanky lad"). The tower is one of the best-known points of interest in the city of Berlin and, while no longer used for broadcasting purposes, it remains a protected monument.

In the US and in Canada you'll find several towns named after the City of Brunswick (Braunschweig) in Germany. Yet - as in most cases - the original is the most beautiful

World leaders are meeting from sunday on in the alpine Mountain Resort & Hotel Schloss Elmau.
It is situated in the bavarian Alps in the deep South of Germany. One of the nicest places worldwide to host a G7 summit as we believe.
As we Look at President Obama he might share our views ;-)

In the north of Germany only you'll find the typical "Hallig-Islands". A Hallig is a very small island in the North Sea that very often only has one or two houses on it.
Especially in the hurricane season in spring life is fairly hard on these Halligs. But the frisian families who have been living there for generations would never want to move to mainland Germany
