🗺️ Sometimes the best travel moments are the ones you never planned.
After a beautiful day exploring the historic w**eries of the Rhine River Valley, we headed back to our apartment in Cochem. With a few hours to spare before making dinner at home, we decided to make the trek up to Pinnerkreuz (Pinner’s Cross).
Instead of hitting the crowded tourist bar at the top where everyone goes, we found a quiet spot right on the edge of the cliff, looking out over the incredible Moselle River Valley.
Naturally, we popped open a bottle of Schloss Johannisberg Schloss JohannisbergYellow Seal Riesling that we'd just picked up. (And yes, we absolutely travel with proper w**e glasses in our car—you never know when a grand opportunity will strike! 🥂)
It was absolutely breathtaking from every single angle. We loved the view so much we couldn't bring ourselves to leave; watch closely at the 0:21 mark in the video and you’ll see us finishing off the last drop! My spouse joked that drinking a Rhine w**e while overlooking the Moselle might be a local sin... but when it's from the second-best w**ery in the world, you open it anywhere.
