Please see below the invitation by the MUN Mannheim society to the MAMUN conference in May :) I hope that many of you can go and join them in this adventure!

Dear KAMUN-friends,

The MUN Mannheim society is happy and proud to announce the 8th MAMUN which will be hosted from 5th to 7th of May in the beautiful castle of Mannheim. This year, our conference will focus on Latin America. Thus, the delegates will debate upon pressing issues like e.g. offshoring and outsourcing to developing countries in the EcoFin Council or international drug trafficking in the UNSC. Also, we’ve come up with a joint cabinet crisis committee consisting of five cabinets.
Great socials and the atmosphere of Europe’s biggest baroque castle will ensure that fun won’t come too short.
Make sure to get a spot in your favourite committee in time!
We’re looking forward to meeting you in May 😃

Buildings around place Stanislas

So we just returned from our trip to France to attend MUNancy! It was amazing...this album just shows some pictures of this beautiful city and amazing things we were up to!
In the UNHCR committee, Fiji sank! At DISEC Syria was devided into 5 occupation zones, and in the JCC the Cuban Missile crisis ended with the Reunification of Germany in 1962, almost 30 years prior to history!
All in all a super fun weekend! Special credits to Philipp and Daniel for managing the crisis so super well!

Honoring the delegate of France during today´s training session at KarlsMUN regarding the topic" Reviewing relations with Russia, strengthening ties with the Ukraine", we would like to bring to the attention of the public the choice of words by the delegate of France when addressing the chair.
He refered to the honorable chair as holy chair. After this it was very hard to establish order in the house.

A warm hello to everyone,

last Thursday we had the honor of listening to a lecture by Anthony Teitler, PhD candidate at UCL, telling us about the UN and its functions. Knowing Anthony as a very enthusiastic and passionate lecturer, I believe it is safe to say, that everybody enjoyed themselves and learned at least one thing they did not know before.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture - shame on me - but I promise to do a better job in the future!

Dear KarlsMUNians,

our next meeting will be held on Thursday, 15th October at 7pm in room 211. Basically right next to the room where we had the information session.

We are very happy to announce, that we will welcome Anthony Teitler to give us a short introduction and presentation on the UN. He is currently writing his doctorate at the University College London and inbetween he is teaching, among others, our International Relations class. Therefore, IR students, please forgive that he will repeat some of the information on the UN in November during class.

Furthermore, we will put together the delegation that will go to the KAMUN at KIT in November. So please already think about whether you would like to attend or not. For more information: www.kamun.org
We will also go through the rules of procedure for KAMUN (which will be sent to you via email afterwards), as well as some general aspects of ModelUN.

Again, we are very happy that so many people showed up for the info session and want to join our club. I hope that many of you will show up on Thursday, since it´s also a good oportunity to ask Anthony questions about the UN.

Please remember, we don´t want to make it compulsory for you to show up every week. But for the sake of the club, it is necessary, that you participate on a regular basis. :)
