Das "Gruseleck" ist ein (deutscher) Teil in der Geschichte der Isle of Man TT.
Hier der Hintergrund der Legende:
Do you know the story behind Gruseleck Corner at the bottom of the Ballaragh Road in Dhoon? 🏍️
Back in 1981, three friends made the long 40-hour journey from Germany to the Isle of Man TT for the very first time. Exhausted and battling terrible weather along the way one of the riders dropped his bike at this very spot.
With nothing left in the tank, they pulled their bikes onto the slope, pitched their tents, and fell asleep… ⛺
But when they woke the next morning, everything had changed. ☀️
“Did something happen to us?” his friend asked.
“Why?” Klaus replied.
“Because… we’re in paradise.”
After a journey full of setbacks, they woke to sunshine, stunning views, and something even more special—the warmth of the Manx welcome. ❤️
They’ve returned ever since. Year after year, the Gruseleck camp stands as a symbol of friendship, respect, and tradition—always leaving it as they found it, and always welcomed back.
In honour of this story, a plaque now marks the spot as Gruseleck Corner—a little piece of TT legend born from one unforgettable morning. 🇮🇲
