Wishing everyone a very happy Lhosar!

Gyalpo Lhosar, commonly known as the Tibetan New Year, is celebrated by people of the & other Himalayan communities living in , Tibet, Sikkim, and Darjeeling. During the celebration, traditional meals are served , a soup made with nine types of beans and meat, is one of the main dishes served alongside . On this day, sacred praying sessions are held in monasteries. Boudha, Swayambhu, Tudikhel, are packed with people dressed in traditional garb, participating in a variety of communal activities.

Happy Teej!

Haritalika Teej - Festival of Nepali Women
Haritalika Teej is an auspicious occasion that holds a great significance to the married Hindu women of Nepal and is a festival that strengthens the bonding among married couples.
The three-day festival is observed with great devotion and enjoyment as women in red dance and sing to folk songs, join feasts, and keep rigid fasts. During the festival, women offer prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for the longevity and well-being of their spouse and children as well as for the purification self.
Nepali women are seen in vibrant colors of clothes, bangles, threads, and garlands, visting Shiva temples. The festival falls in the month of August- Shrawan/Bhadra. It is a festival of color, love, devotion and sisterhood.

World Elephant Day 2021 🐘
They’re intelligent. They’re family-oriented. They have great memories. They are capable of feeling a wide range of deep emotions, from intense grief to joy bordering on elation, as well as empathy and stunning self-awareness. They create complex, supportive societies much like our own.

World Elephant Day was created in 2011 by two Canadian filmmaker Patricia Sims and Thailand’s Elephant Reintroduction Foundation and first celebrated on August 12, 2012. The initiative was greatly supported by film star and Star Trek legend William Shatner who narrated the documentary Return to the Forest, a fascinating 30-minute film about the reintroduction of captive Asian elephants to the wild.

Wir können COVID weltweit nur in den Griff bekommen, wenn alle Länder Zugang zu Impfungen habe, denn die Impfung reduziert das Risiko einer Ernsthafen Erkrankung mit notwendigem Krankenhausaufenthalt um ein Vielfaches.
