Prague has a long history of throwing people out of windows—so much so that there’s even a word for it: defenestration! The most famous one happened in 1618, when Protestant nobles threw two Catholic officials out of a window at Prague Castle.

But here’s the twist: The officials survived the 21-meter (70 ft) fall! Catholics claimed they were saved by angels, while Protestants insisted they just landed in a big pile of… manure. 💩

This dramatic event helped spark the Thirty Years’ War, one of Europe’s deadliest conflicts. Talk about a window of opportunity gone wrong!
