Free Walking Tour - Trier

Free Walking Tour - Trier WHO WE ARE? We are a group of young at heart locals. That´s why we offer informal, informative, but hopefully also good fun free walking & running tours.

After having spent a couple of years abroad, we decided to set up camp in our hometown and to bring the free walking idea to Trier. While we still keep travelling the world, we love our hometown’s history, today’s internationality and the local cuisine. We would be more than happy to share the historical facts with you – but also our inside stories, first-hand recommendations for local eateries &

nightlife as well as any other helpful information which makes our tour unique in Trier. DATES:

Easter walk along the Katharinenufer right by the picturesque Moselle river. The name Katharinenufer refers to the Dominican monastery of St. Katharina, which is located nearby. The monastery was moved from the to the banks of the Moselle in 1288, when Ordulph of Ören gave this area to the nuns. The Katharinenufer is called like this since 1883; from 1862, however, it already bore the name Katharinenquai. Historically, the street was also known as Moselquai. ______________________________________________________________ , a classizist-style art nouveau villa built in the years 1909-12, can be seen in the background. ______________________________________________________________
