My travels recently brought me to NYC. It was the 1st time I’ve returned since the 9/11 Memorial had been built and this was an important stop for me. I heavily reflect this time of year on all those not able to celebrate future birthdays because of the attacks.

I will visit again taking advantage of an official tour. Some highlights to share:

• Oculus Transportation building represents and hope, rising again after the 9/11 attacks.

•9/11 Memorial pools titled ‘Reflecting Absence’ sit in the footprints of the twin towers.

•Freedom Tower built as a sign of resilience.
