Our Luther Seminary students visited the chapel of Hartenfels Castle in Torgau before we soaked in Reformation history at the iconic St.Thomas Church, where Martin Luther preached in 1539 and J.S. Bach served as a cantor for 27 years. We also attended a captivating lecture on the Peaceful Revolution of 1989, reflecting on faith‘s role in peaceful change ❤️

„I think that when different cultures mix and live together, it often takes a lot of patience.
The different cultures are all particularly valuable, and this colorful society, this colorful soup, can taste so good. But sometimes it is simply difficult for different cultures to live together. The ingredients must all be cooked together long enough to create a delicious,
rich soup.“ Yesterday’s talks about refugees and extremism reminded us how challenging — and how valuable — this process can be.
Building understanding takes time, but it’s the only way for true community to grow. ❤️
