The trip served as a preparatory tour ahead of this season, allowing us to explore and evaluate some of the experiences on offer.

We were delighted to welcome the beautiful Viking Vela and to take part in the traditional plaque exchange during her inaugural call to Stockholm the 17th of May!

Itโ€™s always a special occasion to greet a new vessel at one of the ports we operate in and to be part of such a valued maritime tradition that the exchange of plaques is โš“

Our colleague Tuomas has just been traveling around the area of ๐“๐š๐ก๐ค๐จ (near Kuopio airport) in Eastern Finland to visit our partner hotels,ย ๐“๐š๐ก๐ค๐จ ๐๐š๐ง๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐š ๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅย and ๐’๐จ๐ค๐จ๐ฌ ๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ ๐“๐š๐ก๐ค๐จ (Sokos Hotels),ย and find inspiration for future events.

The main take-away from the tour is the absolutely stunning nature of Eastern Finland, where the Summers are long and bright, and the Winters are very secure of abundances of snow.

With popular Winter activities such as husky sledding, snowmobile tours and other nature activities, the experiences are very alike the ones we find in Lapland. In Summer/Spring/Fall guests can enjoy hiking along the many lakes, tryย Finlandโ€™s longest zipline, goย mountain bikingย or do water sports. Everything accompanied by a delicious local cuisine๐Ÿด

Our Board of Directors traveled to the Baltics to attend the official openings of our new offices, and to participate in a reception in Vilnius hosted by the five Nordic Ambassadors, held in celebration of the Nordic National Days.

During the visit, they met with our new Country Managers: Arvydas Silva in Lithuania and Valdis Vanadziล†ลก in Latvia.

The Baltic tour concluded in Tallinn, where we have operated an office for the past 18 years. There, the group enjoyed an informative morning walk with a local guide through the old town before returning to Denmark.

This visit was a sneak peek into what their group will experience during next yearโ€™s event โ€” and let us just say: It was a magical day under the sun, filled with extraordinary and unexpected moments.

Where exactly were we, and who hosted us? Thatโ€™s a little secret for now. What we ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ say is that it was absolutely wonderful, and the people behind the experience were truly passionate โœจ

Behind the scenes of every congress, thereโ€™s a great deal of manpower and hard work ๐Ÿ’ช

Here we have Tuomas from our ๐…๐ข๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ก ๐จ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž, who is currently on the move โ€“ May and June are particularly busy months thanks to a series of medical congresses happening in Helsinki ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ

Between coordinating with our clients and partners to organize transfers, dinner events, welcome desk services, and much more, thereโ€™s also a lot of hands-on work involved. Sometimes, that even means renting a van to bring materials from A to B (who needs a gym when youโ€™ve got boxes to lift and places to be? ๐Ÿ˜‰).

This spring, weโ€™re lucky to have an extra pair of hands: our trainee ๐‰๐ฒ๐ซ๐ค๐ข, pictured here in action at the office, making sure everythingโ€™s prepped and ready to go.

After 8 intensive months where 19 students have dedicated every Tuesday and Saturday to history, storytelling, guidetechnique and hospitality, the new guides are ready to practice their skills on real people ๐Ÿ‘

A festive celebration with all students and teachers took place at ๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ ๐‡๐ž๐›๐ซ๐จ๐งย in Copenhagen with speeches from Charlotte Emmery, Head of Nordic Guide Academy, and Thomas Hรธy, DMC Nordic CEO.
Also the students made a speech where they granted the teachers โ€œ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ตโ€ย (but only as a Christmas decoration๐Ÿ˜‰).
