I had the immense pleasure of guiding (who was guiding who?) 😅 Svend Hardenberg who plays the Greenlandic Minister Hans Eliasen in and his wife, julieedelhardenberg Greenlandic 🇬🇱photographer, artist and researcher, their family and friends.
Accompanied by a really nice bunch of friends who organised the tour, I had the afternoon of my life!
As you know, Svend is not a trained actor but has been contracted together with Julie to work with Adam Price and Per Fly on “reality checking” the script of Borgen. Svend had indeed been one of the most senior civil servants in Greenland. Drawing inspiration from his own position, Svend managed to give Hans Eliasen a more modern and dynamic side to the character – and the result was fabulous! 🤩
We had the opportunity to discuss colonial heritage and the power structures that exist between Greenland 🇬🇱 and Denmark 🇩🇰 on which Julie is a researcher.
What an wonderful tour! I cannot believe my luck! 🍀
