We stand with Ukraine and emphatically support the Ukrainian people’s fight for democracy, human rights, and sovereignty.

This cause holds a special place in our hearts, as many of our colleagues are from Eastern and Central Europe. Our studio continuously works on several projects in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, and we extend our sincerest wish for peace to friends, families and partners!

Today, we donate to Danish Red Cross, who works to deliver humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, and we urge everyone to do the same. Large or small, every donation counts.

PLH Arkitekter is one big family working together, respecting, and watching out for each other. This month, two of our colleagues have their 20 year anniversary working with PLH.

A big congrats to Eline Leisner and Bine Soelberg on the anniversary. We are honored to have your spirits, competencies and personalities at PLH Arkitekter.

Eline is an Architect MAA. A small selection of projects, which Eline has worked on during her time with PLH includes DSV, Amerika Plads, Boliger på Indiakaj and Alfa Laval. Eline describes working with PLH as a workplace with lovely colleagues and great study trips.

Bine is Creative Director and Spatial Designer. Bine has experience with projects such as Maersk Drilling, TRYG, DFDS and Aller Media. Bine is very proud of the fact that she has been part of a transformation, which during the past 20 years has turned interior design into a strong and trusted business.

DSV’s new office in Warsaw, Poland, is a welcoming open workplace with a healthy, ergonomic design inspired by the Danish model: close cooperation, a flat hierarchy and choices in ways of working.

The building includes a fitness center and an employee-restaurant for communal dining and informal collaboration. Both areas are visible from the street, showcasing DSV - Global Transport and Logistics attractive, collegial working environment.

Arkitekt, atlet, verdensborger og medstifter af PLH fylder 70 år i dag. Tillykke Steen Enrico Andersen.

Steen har skabt flere prisvindende bygningsværker i hele verden, han var dansk mester i højdespring, mens han var på det danske atletiklandshold og løber stadig maraton.

For Steen er verden større end Danmark. Han har rejst verden rundt sammen med sin amerikanske hustru, Joanne, deres to børn og senest også med deres barnebarn.

Og igennem alle årene har han været nøglefigur i PLH Arkitekter med stor betydning for både PLH-arkitektur og PLH-ånd.

One of our iconic projects this year is the DLG headquarter.

A beautiful site with an office designed for one of Europe's largest agribusiness companies, owned by Danish farmers.
Nature and agriculture is at the essence of DLG’s identity, and we have interpreted this in the building form, natural materials with crafted details and green roof. Tall windows frame panoramic vistas over the breathtaking surroundings, and landscaped paths enable employees to have walk-and-talks and enjoy the outdoors . Altogether, it makes for a unique, healthy and uplifting work life experience.

Søren Mølbak, CEO and Partner at PLH Arkitekter, elaborates:

”It was clear to me that we had succeeded with this project, when a DLG employee commented that the floor in the foyer looked like the floor from a barn. This story tells me that we have captured the heart of the company identity in the building”

Christmas is here!

Last week (before we all had to work from home again) we shared a little PLH Christmas spirit at the PLH Studio by wearing Christmas hats.

We also crafted handmade Christmas hearts with the names of charities that the PLH employees would like PLH to donate to instead of our yearly Christmas party.

Let’s bring the Christmas feeling to our home offices as well.

Hvad vil du huske år 2020 for? Mange vil nok svare: Covid19 og hjemmearbejde.

I et interview fortæller Paulette Christophersen, som er ekspert i workplace-design og partner hos PLH Arkitekter, om hvorvidt hun tror, at hjemmearbejde og digitale møder fortsat vil være en del af vores hverdag i fremtiden.

Hun udtaler bl.a. : ”Jo mere man arbejder hjemme, jo mere har man faktisk behov for steder, man kan samles og udveksle ideer, viden og produkter sammen”.

Det ’nye’ Amager Center er designet med fokus på at skabe et åbent og moderne center med respekt for centrets historie og tidligere funktion som rebslageri.

PLH Arkitekter har i samarbejde med Danske Shoppingcentre, Hoffmann A/S, DEAS A/S og COWI skabt et nyt, gammelt center, som skiller sig ud fra de traditionelle centre, som vi kender dem i dag.

”Hele vores grundidé var, at vi ville bringe de gamle bygningers skønhed tilbage og få industrihistorien bragt frem” udtaler Søren Mølbak, Partner og direktør i PLH.

Jesper Fogd Spager, Arkitekt MAA/Byggeøkonom MDB, uddyber: ”En af vores intentioner var også, at vi ville bevare det skæve (…) Vi ville ikke tage ånden ud af Amager Centret”.

Amager Centret er indstillet til Årets Arne 2021. De indstillede værker er i øjeblikket til afstemning blandt medlemmerne af arkitektforeningen København
