The Christianshavn Tour: Our 90 minute tour of the alternative side of Copenhagen, the island of Christianshavn. Starts from Højbro Plads Thursdays to Mondays in English at 15.00. Classical Copenhagen tour: Our 90 minute tour of Renaissance Copenhagen. Starts from Højbro Plads every Thursday and Sunday at 12.00. See all the updated times on our website:

Carlsberg’s yeast wasn’t only used for beer 🍞🍻

After Emil Christian Hansen discovered how to isolate a reliable yeast strain, Carlsberg started selling the excess yeast to the public.

People used it for all kinds of things, from brewing their own beer to baking bread at home.

The yeast was sold here at the Yeast Tower until 1988, meaning this small part of Carlsberg’s history continued well into modern times.

A reminder that behind the famous beer brand are hundreds of smaller stories hiding around Carlsberg City.
