This could be you catching a Tiger Catfish during our jungle survival course 😉

One of the usual suspects in the B***o B***o River and an absolutely welcome meal during an isolation phase 🙏😂

Everyone on the course receives training in hand line fishing, and of course we always have experienced local experts with us to show just how effectively it can be done 🤣

Piggy’s 😂🐷

Peccaries are one of the classic characters of the rainforest, roaming through the jungle in sometimes massive herds. They carry a strong scent and are well known for rampaging through farms and crops in nearby communities 😶

This one was spotted just a short walk from , and what an incredible experience it was to see one this close up 🇬🇾🥇

Moving through the mountains is something else ⛰️

Weather systems, terrain, rain, and season all play a major role in how movement unfolds in these environments. Having knowledgeable guides certainly makes things easier, but at the end of the day you still have to carry yourself 😂

From shorter mountain excursions during expeditions to spending every single day moving through the highlands, we do it all.

If you are looking for a real physical challenge combined with some of the most extraordinary views imaginable, then maybe it is time to join us in the mountains of Guyana 🇬🇾

Ration packing for major expeditions can become quite the operation 😂

For each day, every participant carries a ration pack containing meals, snacks, and essentials that they will manage themselves throughout the journey.

We always start out heavy, but with every passing day another ration pack disappears and the loads slowly become lighter and lighter 💪

That is just part of expedition life. Planning, preparation, and carrying everything you need into the wilderness.

Fishing session on the go 😉

During a short little lunch break in the forest, Carlos wasted no time after spotting some small Yarow moving through a creek 🐟

The small hand lines everyone carries remain one of the easiest and quickest ways of securing the next meal, and we always keep them close whether we are on a jungle survival course or a remote expedition.

Opportunities belong to those who are ready to take them 💪

Overland expeditions and dry feet rarely go together 😂

As you move through the remote corners of the rainforest, creek crossings are almost guaranteed. There are no bridges, rarely a perfect crossing point, and when the best possible opportunity appears, it is all about making the most of it 💪

That is the reality of real jungle travel. Dynamic, unpredictable, and always demanding adaptability.

Are you ready to join a true expedition into one of the least explored places left on the planet? 🇬🇾

Skills and traditions, still well and alive 🇬🇾🙏

We are about to head out on another jungle survival course, where our guests will undergo an intensive 13 to 15-day experience culminating in a 3 to 5-day solo phase deep in the rainforest.

Everything during that final phase depends on the knowledge they have been taught, the tools they have trained with, and the perseverance they brought with them from home 😉

There are no exam results waiting at the end. Just you, the jungle, and your ability to adapt to the environment and the opportunities around you.

It is probably one of the closest experiences you can have to truly reconnecting with yourself in nature, all taking place in one of the most majestic rainforests left on the planet.

Are you ready to join? 🙂

Smoke fish anyone? 😉🇬🇾

This was taken on the final day of one of our jungle survival courses, where our team of instructors headed out to catch fish to bring back to their families.

Smoking fish is a traditional method of preservation used for transport and storage, ensuring the food remains safe to eat without refrigeration. In many ways, the process has likely remained almost unchanged for thousands of years.

The fish is essentially dehydrated over the fire, allowing it to be transported, reheated, and kept for days at a time. It also creates a naturally sustainable rhythm. Once enough food has been prepared, it is time to relax in the hammock and enjoy camp life until supplies once again run low and it’s time to fish again.

Interestingly, the more traditionally many communities continue to use their resources, the more often you still find healthy stocks of fish and wildlife surrounding them. It is worth reflecting on in a world where some areas have become completely depleted through large scale net fishing and modern hunting methods.

Once in a while you find a place where almost every single throw results in a Himara strike, and this was definitely one of those spots 😂

Incredible activity, all inside a tiny creek. Probably some of the most entertaining fishing you can imagine, and great fun for our guests on this expedition to experience hand line fishing 🐟

Henning stayed fairly unaffected by the fish being landed, but don’t underestimate the teeth on these predators. Himara are true apex hunters, sitting hidden beneath logs and rocks waiting in ambush for anything unfortunate enough to pass by 🔥🥷
