We recommend this tour in Marstal, Ærø. We read the book and loved the audiowalk based on the book. Take your time to do it. It is a small Adventure.

"Our family of five (three teens) rented beautiful, comfortable, well maintained touring bikes for 10 days to bike from Svenborg - søllested - Marielyst - Bogo By - Mon Klint - vordingborg - Karresbarkminde- Agerso - Kerteminde- Odense. We each had two 25L saddle bags and a front pouch, giving us plenty of space to store our items. Tires were great (no flats) and the seats were the most comfortable we have had! This is a family run operation so you will need to travel to their house 20 minutes outside Odense if you are just renting bikes from them (we took an uber). A safe lovely bike trail leads you back to Odense if this is where you are starting a self guided tour from. Note - not easy to get an uber for 5 people (and public transportation is a bit tricky) but doable. Bikes on trains can also be an operation (often no space) so be prepared for this if you are doing the trip independently. Overall, the best self guided family ride we have done!"
