🎉 Angelica Melinte has recently been promoted to operations lead – offshore!

She joined our team in 2022 as an offshore operations coordinator and has quickly made her mark.

When asked what excites her most about her new role, she said: “I’m looking forward to working with competent people who are passionate about what they do. It is important to me to be in more contact with our clients and gain a deeper understanding of their needs."

Originally from Romania, Angelica has been living in Denmark for the past 17 years. She is a proud mother of two daughters with a strong background in sales assistance and multimedia design. Outside of work, Angelica is a morning person who enjoys being active and traveling with her daughters. She also has a great passion for reading!

The event is the largest for the wind energy sector in the region and a great opportunity to connect with our local renewables clients and suppliers "Altrad Alpha enhances its onshore OEM clients' maintenance programs across Australia by providing experienced technicians for wind turbine servicing, blade inspections, and maintenance. 📢 Calling all wind technicians in the USA!

Our Houma, LA, facility is now authorized to offer two additional Global Wind Organization (GWO) courses: Advanced Rescue Training (ART) and Slinger Signaller (SLS).

ART covers wind turbine rescue, including access, patient handling, and communication for an injured person from the basement, tower, nacelle, hub, and blades. SLS educates participants on the risks and hazards associated with slinger signalling in the wind industry, providing the knowledge needed to control and mitigate these dangers.

The team at Altrad Alpha recently made a donation to aid Sofie Skoubo, an athlete and the only female in the Danish Paralympic wheelchair rugby team. “Upon seeing Sofie's Facebook post seeking support to acquire new equipment for the Paris Paralympics, we recognised the importance of upgrading her gear—new wheelchair wheels, gloves, and more—to prepare for the demanding training camps, tournaments, and daily sessions leading up to the event,” said Mikkel Lund, Altrad Alpha’s CEO. The 2024 Paris Paralympic Games will take place from August 28 to September 8, bringing together 4,400 exceptional Paralympic athletes from around the world.

“This contribution and support are immensely significant in the months leading up to the games in France,” said Sofie, who juggles the national team commitments with her role as a Ph.D. student at the National Rehabilitation Center for Neuromuscular Diseases.

Wheelchair rugby, a mixed-team sport for athletes with varying degrees of paralysis in all limbs, provides an inclusive alternative to wheelchair basketball. Played in specially designed manual wheelchairs by a team of four, it blends elements from rugby, basketball, and handball.

After International Women's Day last week, we want to carry on and shine a spotlight on Oana Simon, our operations lead—blades for northern and central Europe. She joined our team in 2017 as a rope access technician and, in 2022, was promoted to assistant supervisor. Less than two years later, she assumed her current leadership role.

Hailing from Romania and currently residing in Denmark, Oana credits her grandmother and her sister as the two greatest female examples in her life. “My grandmother taught me the value of hard work and independence, while my sister is a force to be reckoned with. Working since she was 18, she steadily climbed the career ladder, confronting misogyny head-on without flinching.”
