🤔🤔🤔Planning your vacation to the Dominican Republic can lead to many questions because international travel can be complicated. Vacao prides itself on being totally transparent with all guests, so we’d like to share the answers to some frequently asked questions with you.🤔🤔🤔

1. What’s the best way to travel to the Dominican Republic?
The Dominican Republic is an island nation, so your best best to get here is via flight. We recommend booking your flight at least six weeks before you want to fly.

2. What kinds of documents do I need to get into the Dominican Republic?
You’ll need your passport to get through border control and customs. Plus, you’ll have to fill out what’s called an “e-ticket.” You can fill out the e-ticket form before you even leave your home country! We can walk you through the whole process.
3. How long can I stay in the Dominican Republic as a tourist?
Without a visa, you can stay in DR for 30 days. You can extend your stay to 120 days by paying for an extension.

4. What is the Dominican departure tax?
The Dominican departure tax is a government fee that all tourists pay. It’s $20, and will be included in your airfare, so be on the lookout for that extra charge.

5. What’s the drinking age in DR?
The drinking age here in DR is 18 years old. Enjoy the different drinks and cocktails we have to offer, but we encourage drinking responsibly.

6. What kind of weather can I expect on my trip to DR?
Weather in DR varies, but it’s pretty warm here all year round. We get both rain and sunshine, so be prepared for both! The wet season is from May to November, and the dry season is from December to April, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t see rain during the dry season and vice versa.

✈️When you finally land in the Dominican Republic, you don’t want to have to worry about getting back to your hotel!

So what’s the best way to get to and from the airport?

Public transportation probably isn’t the best idea if you aren’t familiar with the area. But you have other options!

🚙You can arrange for one of our drivers to handle the transfer. They’ll get you from the hotel and help with your luggage! We can also arrange for transfers back to the airport at the end of your trip!🚙

🚗Another option is to rent a car. If you’re a good driver and want to have more independence, then we can help you arrange a car rental with a reputable company.🚗
