Ever notice those frigate birds soaring high above the ocean?
For fishermen, they are one of nature’s best fish finders. Frigate birds often follow schools of baitfish pushed to the surface by predators like tuna, mahi-mahi, and other game fish.
When we spot frigates actively circling and diving, it’s usually a sign that something exciting is happening below the surface.
Out here in Las Terrenas, we always keep an eye on the sky—sometimes the birds lead us straight to the fish.
