Feb 17-18 : Highlights sailing the Mona Passage to land ho in Salinas, Puerto Rico! Whales and dolphins added to our scenery of waves and a beauty of a sunset. It was a nice sail up until the last 3hrs making land, a playground, and friends all the more worth it. Off to new lands to explore…

Our week in Samana, DR was nothing short of amazing! With Synergy at Puerto Bahia Marina, we had access to all the perks, from poolside playfulness, a playground, pizza and lots of friends to enjoy it with. We also went on exciting land excursions in Las Terranas, Playa el Valle, and Playa Rincon. The lush mountains and gorgeous scenery were the perfect remedy to a challenging sail over, revitalizing our spirits and our fruit supply in the process.

From February 5th-9th, we sailed from Georgetown, Bahamas to Samaná, Dominican Republic…473 miles! We weren’t expecting to leave the Bahamas this early, but a unique opportunity of weather popped up which allowed us to sail the entire way, a feat that isn’t easy with the usual Trade Wind pattern. We brought Grandma (Brian’s mom, Barbara) along for the ride as she came to visit for Jaxon’s birthday. For 3 nights and 4 full days, we sailed, we did crafts, we caught Synergy’s first mahi!, and most importantly, we celebrated Jaxon’s 5th birthday, pirate style 🏴‍☠️ Welcome to the Caribbean Synergy crew!

It’s been a beautiful animal fun filled day! Unexpected shark sightings at the boat, playground for the win! We found bread too (not pictured)… over to pig beach with the two twin baby pigs — Sooo cute! And to end it all with dolphins at sunset. Happy heartbeats on board tonight. 💕🐽🐬🍞🛝🏝️🥰👍🏼
