Depending on the size of the house, pool, and gardens, we will ensure regular gardening, pool cleaning, and house cleaning is completed at least once a week. We are two Canadians who were drawn to the sun, beach, and balmy weather and decided “Hey, I could really learn to enjoy living here”. So, in our own separate ways, we made the move to the Dominican Republic. Selling all of our assets, warm winter clothes, and taking barely anything but summer clothes (and 1 elderly dog), we found ourselves in Sosua, Puerto Plata. Like many people who decide to move, we both found ourselves renting an apartment, house, or villa for a while until we either found one we liked and purchased it or until the one we liked was built. But until that day happened, we found ourselves in places that left us less than impressed. Although uncomfortable and distressing, what came from those experiences though was an idea. Offering a place to live, whether in the short or long term isn’t a new idea – it happens all the time, all over the world, but for some owners and management companies, the level of standards of those places isn’t what you would expect to find. Things like good, supportive mattresses, clean pools, updated and comfortable living furniture, working lights, all kitchen amenities, and welcoming atmospheres. As Canadians, we know that that isn’t too much to ask if you’re going to be paying thousands of dollars in rent. So, we decided to start our own rental management company and we made it our mission to provide only the highest of standards and rental properties. We do a thorough home audit before accepting any property to manage and we ensure we would be comfortable living there before offering it to anyone else. We provide the owners with a list of items that need to be changed, updated, or fixed in order for us to manage their property. And we train our staff to watch out for things that need replacing as time and renters go by. Why do we do this? Because we don’t want anybody to experience the same distressing circumstances we did, and as owners of rental villas ourselves, we would hate to get a call from a renter saying we are not satisfied with what we were offering and give us our money back.
