In 2016 your hosts, Andrew and Jennifer, set out to the Dominican Republic to escape the snow and cold winter months of Canada and discovered the beautiful island and it's people. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, abundance of amenities, and the local vibe drew them in. They quickly fell in love with the town, it's people and decided to invest in a place to call their own. After thoughtfu

l consideration they purchased a beautiful 3-bedroom penthouse condo just steps to the beach and at the centre of some of the best amenities in Cabarete. Aside from a cornucopia of restaurants within walking distance that will fulfill any food wish you have, there are many locals with homemade goods that will deliver to the condo

Homemade lasagna, olive loaf and pumpkin pie are a few of the offerings from Joy Pepper of Pepperpot English bakes. We have ordered from numerous times.

With the installation of new modern ceiling fans in the living room, we have officially changed every existing light in the condo. So many changes.
On the left were the old dated fans. On the right new LED modern lights

How it started to where we are now.
This year we laid all new tiles throughout the living/kitchen area
Built a pergola over half the terrace, replaced lights and ceiling fans, put a drop ceiling in the main bathroom and installed an exhaust fan. Currently we are painting the outdoor terrace to create more outdoor living space

It's mango growing time here in the Dominican Republic.
These pics were taken in Sosua but across the terrace we have watched them bloom and grow.
And funny fact....when they fall of the tree they bounce like a rubber ball.

All day every day you see the "blue shirts" walking the beach selling their wares.
Holding suitcases like these full of treasures. A polite no gracias and a smile and they continue on their way. Or they will sit and bargain away so you go home with a piece of the island.

When a day at the beach will fix anything. Cabarete Beach is a short walk across the street. Rent a chair and relax or if you are more adventurous take a kite surfing lesson.
