4-12 day tours in the Huaorani Reserve and Yasuni National Park. Stay with a Huaorani family in their traditional hut. Great way to learn about and experience the Huaorani culture. Living with Huorani hunter gatherers you will try the food they catch in the forest and learn about the plants they use. You will learn how they survive in the wilderness.
Four day tours include night walks to spot aninals and insects, day hikes to spot animals and learn about many plants used by Huoranis, piranha fishing, eating traditional food from the jungle, hunting with a traditional blowgun, night boat ride to spot caymans, 3 hour boat rides from tiguino to the lodge and back, and boat rides to the trekking spots. Spot monkeys, caymans, otters, snakes, frogs, toucans, King fishers, and many other birds and insects. At the end of your stay you will experience a Waorani ceremony and dance in traditional waorani clothing.
On longer tours we could travel deeper into yasuni and camp in places where animals eat and drink at night. Increase our chances to see tapirs, capibaras, pumas, anacondas, pink dolphins, lots of monkeys, and bigger caymans. Tademo is a friendly huorani guide that grew up in the jungle. He can make many animal noises and bird calls.
The tours also include 3 meals a day, tents, mats, and boots. We take care of everything and try to make you as comfortable as possible in the jungle. This is a tiguino community initiative and all the money from the tour goes to the community, the local guides tademo and wilder, and to the family that hosts us.
