Dorfzaun has been a worldwide supplier of fine quality Panama Hats since 1939. This family owned and run business has been an economic and cultural supported of the diverse artisan community of Cuenca and continues to encourage the artsy nature of her people. The story of the Panama Hat is deeply rooted in Cuenca's heritage and has rooted the Dorfzaun family in Ecuador. Over the last 75 years, K Dorfzaun Hats has provided the world with the finest quality panama hats Ecuador has to offer. We have accomplished this feat through working alongside generations of weavers whose art has been passed down with time. Age old practices such as using natural dyes and sustainable farming of the paja toquilla are environmentally and communally friendly. Our emphasis on quality helps support the community of artisans and weavers in Cuencas as well as ensures that their wisdom is never lost in this mechanized world.
