Tokyo’s bar scene operates on the same principle as its kitchens — precision, craft, and an almost intimidating commitment to getting it right. From one of the most important botanical cocktail bars in the world to cocktail kaiseki and vinyl listening bars, here’s where to drink. 🍸🇯🇵🌿

🌿 Bar Benfiddich — one of the most important bars in the world. Botanical cocktails crafted from ingredients the bartender grows and forages himself. Watch his Instagram for when reservations go live each month.

🍸 — a Tokyo institution. Snag reservations for their basement location.

🥂 at the Four Seasons Otemachi — the best of French and Japanese hospitality, and an unmatched cognac collection.

🌃 New York Bar at the Park Hyatt — 52nd floor skyline views, live jazz, and a serious whisky selection.

🍷 in Ebisu — a must-visit for cocktail lovers.

🍵 — Japanese tea crossed with mixology. Prepare to be mind-blown.

🗼 — a whole different world, plus a great rooftop and Tokyo Tower views.

🎴 — cocktail kaiseki. Drinks structured like a Japanese tasting menu.

🎶 — a true vinyl listening bar with 3,000 records and great cocktails.

Most tourists visit Italy. Few actually experience it.

After years of planning Italy trips for clients (and honestly, too many personal trips to count), I’ve learned that the difference comes down to a handful of unwritten rules nobody puts in the guidebook. Which word you use when you walk into a shop. Whether you touch the fruit at the market. What it means when someone waves you into a restaurant from the sidewalk.

Swipe through for the things I tell every client before they go - the cultural nuances, the dining rules, and the small details that quietly separate a great Italy travel experience from one that stays on the tourist track.

If you’re ready to plan an Italy trip that actually gets you there, I’d love to help. Find my link in the bio.

There’s a version of the Cotswolds that looks like a dream…
and a version that feels crowded, overhyped, and logistically messy.

The difference? Knowing how to do it.

Think:
– Long, wine-soaked lunches at places like The Fox at Oddington and The Wild Rabbit (not just any pub)
– Timing villages like Stow-on-the-Wold so they actually feel charming, not chaotic
– Choosing stays like Thyme that completely shape the pace of your trip
– Booking restaurants like The Kingham Plough before they’re fully gone for summer weekends
– Stopping for a pint from Hawkstone Brewery and visiting Diddly Squat Farm Shop without it turning into a logistical headache

Because the Cotswolds isn’t about checking boxes—it’s about flow.
And that’s the part most people get wrong.

If a summer here has been on your list, I’d love to help you plan it in a way that feels effortless, elevated, and actually worth the trip ✨

Hakone earns its place on any Japan itinerary — whether you’re coming from Tokyo or stopping over on the way to Kyoto. Two nights is the sweet spot, and while your ryokan will handle kaiseki dinner and breakfast beautifully, here’s what to seek out in between. 🏔️🇯🇵

🍵 — a single-origin tea shop in Gora with hojicha roasted to order and local wagashi to pair. Reservations required, no photos inside.

🍱 — a Gora institution. Head to the old building for Tofu Katsuni, the main restaurant for tonkatsu.

🌋 Owakudani — the dramatic high point of the ropeway. Queue up for kuro-tamago, black eggs boiled in the volcanic hot spring water, and views of Fuji on a clear day.

🎨 Hakone Open Air Museum — one of the best museums in Japan. Rodin and Picasso across a landscaped hillside, plus a foot onsen mid-route.

Ready to plan your Hakone stay? Reach out through my bio — I can help you find the right ryokan and build an itinerary worth the detour.

Don’t sleep on Osaka thinking it’s just a stopover between Tokyo and Kyoto. This is one of the most food-obsessed cities on the planet.

🐙 Wanaka is the original for takoyaki in Osaka — the molten interior is no joke.

🐟 Uomaru has been a Kuromon Market fixture since 1935 — bluefin tuna cut to order, right in front of you.

🥞 near Dotonbori is loud, fun, and serious about the food — great for dietary restrictions too.

🍢 is MICHELIN-selected with a fantastic omakase and just 12 seats.

🍷 is third-generation okonomiyaki and an unbelievable Japanese natural wine program.

🍡 Amato Maeda has been making mitarashi dango the same way since 1968.

🍞 sparked Japan’s bread obsession — the egg sandwich or honey toast can’t be missed.

🍵 .horie for their Wakaron or anmaki — red bean with butter is my favorite.

🧀 freshly baked cheesecake is an Osaka institution. Note there’s a quicker line to the left side.

☕️ .exp is one of two Japanese spots on the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list.

🍸 is a minimal, hushed second-floor retreat with no menu and great seasonal cocktails.

🌟 is a great, moody speakeasy — but good luck finding it (hint: look for the star).

🍹 is making some of the most creative cocktails in the city — prepare for very interesting ingredients, in the best possible way.

Japan is everything people say it is — and then some. 🇯🇵

From ryokans hidden in the mountains to the most perfectly choreographed kaiseki meal of my life, this trip had every layer I look for when I’m building a Japan itinerary for clients: culture, food, quiet moments, and a few things you’d never find on your own.

Whether you’re dreaming of Tokyo street food, a sake brewery in the countryside, or a bullet train window seat with Mt. Fuji in the frame — Japan deserves more than a generic tour package.

Thinking about Japan? Link in bio to reach out — I’d love to plan your trip. ✨
